SO WHAT IS FENG SHUI?

The simple interpretation of FENG SHUI is wind and water, but how can wind and water change our lives?

The ancient Chinese believed that the wind carried beneficial chi or energy along the river to propogate land and enhance the lives of individuals. If the river flowed smoothly - then the natives' lives ran smoothly. If the river became stuck, or stagnant, then the natives ' lives would reflect these issues.

The ancient philosophers and astronomers watched how energy patterns changed throughout the day, the months, the seasons and years. These energy patterns worked differently with different types of people. Some would excel at certain times of day, the week or the year, whilst others seemed to need a bit more encouragement as they lacked energy and enthusiasm.Why did people facing a certain direction do better than those facing a another? Why were the crops more successful in some sectors and not others?

The answers to these questions became the basis for the manifestation of FENG SHUI as a set of principals by which to live. With that in mind, the true interpretation of FENG SHUI would be 'the lushness of the land, created by the movement of powerful and positive chi bouncing from the flowing river, bringing wealth to the people from fertile soil and healthy crops'.

In other words, FENG SHUI principals can produce health, wealth and abundance, when they are activated.

SO HOW CAN IT CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

Brown is the colour of mud, hence, we become stuck in the mud when we use it in our homes. When a whole society wears it, it clearly shows it is time for all of us to work on our individual crap and heal it, rather than burying it.

Grey represents the 'grey area'. Something that denotes inclarity and indecision. A time where we are uncertain about many things. With the state of the planet at the moment, it is no wonder that grey has surfaced. Which leads us to black. The colour of protection. Yes, there are a lot of people feeling very vulnerable at the moment, and they are likely to hide behind black clothes and fabrics.

However, when we get through this year of ancient prophecies of doom and gloom and all suddenley realise that we made it to 2000, I believe we will be looking for something new, bright and creative in our lives.

2000, will be very different. We will celibrate the fact that we are still here, that we were not blown up by some catastrophic disaster and that life is pretty good. 2000 will be the time of YELLOW - the colour of mental thought, will power and intellect. The time to start making real decisions for ourselves. A time when we will be looking to change and let go of the past in a big way.
