Because she's confused.
Why was she so obsessed with Tamahome?
It's a jealousy thing. The schiseishi are supposed to fall in love with their mikos, but she doesn't get that Tama is in love with HIS miko, which isn't Yui. I'm sure you follow my logic.
Does she deserve Tamahome?
She deserves someone who will love her, not her best friend's cast-offs.
