A Summary of Tomoe Hotaru's Life

"Sailor Saturn appears at the moment of destruction. She takes all to nothing. She is the guide to death. When the three talismans are together, they will invoke the key that will call Sailor Saturn. We are the guardians of that key. The time when we gather them, the three talismans, that is the time of Sailor Saturn's awakening. The three talismans must not be able to be brought together. The time when Sailor Saturn awakens... Is the time of the death of this world. The time of the ruin of this world." --From Sailor Moon Manga, Act 29

THE PAST. In the anime: While she was a child, Tomoe Hotaru was killed when an explosion hit her during one of her father's experiments. To save her life, Professor Tomoe let an entity called Mistress Nine inhabit her body. Mistress Nine is evil. (She's pretty kewl, though.) She took Chibi-Moon's heart crystal and ate it. (Nasty, huh?)

FRIENDS. Hotaru-chan did not have any friends while she was growing up. Because of her healing abilities, her classmates thought she was weird and stayed away from her. She was very sickly. Her "friendless" status changed when she met Chibi-Usa, the first person to know about her abilities and not be disgusted by it.
