I am the Moon Goddess. (Take note: capital letters) I once came to Earth to pick out my priestess. I named her... Serenity. But I had other jobs as well. A civilization was laid out in my domain. I traveled often, between Earth and the Moon. I am the Virgin Huntress. (More capital letters.) I hunted on Earth and brought game to the Moon. But a time came when they didn't need us anymore. We were called back to the Eternal Plains. But I loved my people, so I came back... as a cat. Surely, a huggable cat would not be under suspicion... But when I came back my people were gone; my domain was in ruins. So I buried them and I became alone. But I felt the callings of some of my people. I rejoiced to discover they were on Earth, but alas! They remember nothing. In one of my searches, I encountered an ancient castle full of mysterious beings. There were gargoyles and elves and other creatures. I must have been away in the Eternal Plains longer than I thought for I have never encountered them in my forests or in my domain. The clanners were friendly; their population was increasing. I found myself in good company and so I stayed. And who knows how long I will stay. And who knows if I will ever regain my people.
(Hey, don't give me those dirty looks. I know my mythology, thankyouverymuch. Phoebe was a Titan of the Moon in Greek mythology. But with all the relationships, they all mean the same thing: Diana, Artemis, Luna, Phoebe, Selene, Hecate, though Osiris is quite different... Phoebe was actually Leto's [Latona's] mother. sigh If you don't know who Leto is, she's Artemis and Apollo's mother. Apollo and Artemis took the job over from Hyperion and Phoebe when they were grown. Interesting fact: Did you know that Phoebe is also the name of a moon on Saturn? That doesn't have anything to do with me, of course.)
