The following policies are just general mailing list policies you will see on pretty much any mailing list you join. If you slip-up and break one you'll get a warning first (everyone makes boo-boos), if however you've been warned and you ignore me, you will be removed from the mailing list. Nakago expects his rules to be obeyed. Also, I expect that you've read these when you join. I know there are plenty of mailing lists out there where the admin is lax with the rules. This isn't one of them. 1) This is a Nakago mailing list. Acceptable topics for discussion are anything Nakago related, Soi related, and if you occasionally (but remember, this is the Nakago ML and not the FYML) delve into other Fushigi Yuugi topics thats okay too. Do not try to bring in characters from other series, because everyone may not have even seen them and they are completely and totally unrelated to this mailing list. If you insist on talking off-topic, you will be removed. 2) Please do not post any binaries to the list. The poor little server can't handle sending all that information out to an entire mailling list. If you have fan fiction or fan art you'd like to share with everyone post the urls (addresses) for it instead. If you don't have a place to put it up on the web I would be happy to help you out. ^-^ 3) Gomen. But this one is my pet-peeve. No signature files over 6 lines and/or longer than your actual message. If you're signature is normally within the 6 line limit but you have a very short post, please just sign your name instead at the end of that one. 4) Do not post one-line messages and "me too!" messages to the list. They might seem conversational, but they don't contribute to the discussion in any way. See the page regarding spam. 5) If your reply is really only aimed at one person please send it to them privately and not to the list. 6) If you are collecting URLS or poll information you MUST send it privately to the person who wants it. Do not under any circumstances and under penalty of life imprisonment in a room with Miboshi (harsh?? o.o) post those responses to the list. If you are the collector? Make sure you insist the info goes to you privately. 7) Do not spam the list. Period. I'm not flexible about this. If you aren't sure what spam is, see the page called What Is Spam? 8) Please use spoiler space when posting. If you aren't sure exactly what episode or volume it's a spoiler for, try your best to make some kind of warning anyways. You don't have to be perfect, just considerate. 9) Keep the profanity off the list. It's not appropriate on a ML, and it comes accross as very immature. 10) Lastly, remember that there are real people on the other side of the messages you post reading them. Please be considerate and polite in your discussion. Even if you disagree with someone, profanity and flames and "you're stupid/evil/insane" posts are unacceptable on a public mailing list. If you feel you have to flame someone or you'll die, you'd better hope you send it privately. The admin of this ML is particularly anal about flames. |
