Have you ever wondered?
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a child?
It's something that you never have known.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a child?
You were old long before you were grown.
No happy playing in the sunlight,
No building castles in the sand.
No laughing friends to cheer you up,
No one to hold you by the hand.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be loved?
To be cherished, and held in someone's arms?
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be loved?
To be held tightly, and kept safe and warm?
All those hopeless years of loneliness,
Full of bitter pain and sorrow.
What gave you the strength to go on
And face each new tomorrow?
Have you ever wondered what it's like to have a home?
You were robbed, so many years ago.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to have a home?
With your people gone, now you'll never know.
So face your future, head held high.
Forever strive to become strong,
Then send your challenge far and wide
Against the world that has done you such wrong.
