Kurama is very much tempted to let the kiss pass & let it all happen.In fact Kurama "is" tempted.Thank goodness for the much needed distraction.

There is a loud knock at the door,& then a voice called up"Hey 'neesan Mai-san is here." Shu-chan's voice.Both heads jerked to look at the door & with fast movements both is back on their feet."H-hai Shu-chan,I'll be there in a minute."Kurama sounds a bit uncoordinated & trembly.

"Hey 'niisan,are you okay?"asked Shu-chan on the other side of the door."Yes I am fine tell Mai to hold on just a sec will ya?"answered Kurama.

"Yoshi."& Kurama's brother is coming down from the stairs again.

Kurama leaned against the back of the door & let out a sigh,I almost.......Then shook his head.Then he finally notice that Hiei was still there staring at him with that undeniable heat & passion in his eyes which he ignored.He didn't even mind that Hiei was staring at his flawless legs & a very large indication of arousal in his slim short.Maybe because we just really miss each other that's why we almost did that or the fact that both of you finally realize what both of your body wants.His evil subconcious added slyly he blocked it off.

He finally speak to Hiei "Hiei gomen I didn't mean to.....""No need for apology Kurama maybe next time"Hiei quickly reply.The Kitsune blinked a few times after hearing those words did I hear what I just hear?He tried to erase it to his mind."Anyway this is your chance to meet Mai,Hiei"Kurama says while putting his pants on.Hie's expression suddenly changed again to his usual stoic appearance with a scowl"Hn.I don't want to mingle with ningens."refused Hiei.

"Please Hiei. for me"Kurama pleaded.& instantly Hiei's expression softened a bit.

"Hn"

They silently walked down the stairs,as they walked down Hiei scanned the room he saw Kurama's kaasan & neesan & a...........not-so-bad-looking girl which is definitely is the Kitsune's bride.

"Ah,Shuuichi Mai is here &......Oh,I see that you have another visitor who is he?"asked politely by Shiori.

"Kaasan,this is my bestfriend & bestman Hiei.He came by earlier guess you didn't see him" introduced Kurama.

"Oh,Gomen Hiei-san how unhospitable of me not to greet you."apologised Kurama's mom.& as usual just a bare nod is all Hiei returned.

Then Mai finally speak,"Hi Hiei-kun!I am Mai Takeda Minamino-san's fiancee & soon to be wife please to meet you."Bowed Mai

"Hn."

"Ummmm,Hiei is just not the convertionalist type."reasoned Kurama having sweatdrops on his fore heads."& if you don't mind Mai he will join us for dinner."Hiei shot Kurama a glare but Kurama just winked at him. 

"Sure shuiichi-kun.It's a pleasure to have Hiei with us for dinner."replied warmly by Mai.

Yeah I bet you do,Hiei gritted his teeth.

"Wait a minute Mai I will just dress up Ok?You came earlier than expected darling."said Kurama.

Hiei want to slash the bride into pieces I should be the one being called darling by my Kurama.Hiei tried very hard to control his anger.

Then Kurama turn his attention towards the koorime "How about you Hiei what do you want to wear?"asked the Kitsune.

"Hn,my attire will do"Hiei answered cooly.

"Suit yourself"Kurama shrugged.& quickly left to go back to his room Hiei silently followed.

"Oniisan has weird friends."Noted Shuuichi.

"Shuu-chan!That is not a very nice thing to say."scolded Shiori.

After a half an hour.............

"Let's go out then"Kurama said excitedly.

"Be careful you guys"shouted Shuuichi Hatanaka.

"We will.Bye,'niisan."As Kurama drive the car.

They arrived in a first class international restaurant.Hiei in his usual black cloak & white scarf.Kurama in a white tuxedo which beautifully contrasted to his red locks.& Mai,with her strapless red gown which highlight her perfect figure & her black hair fallen sensually to her shoulders.Everyone looked at the three that entered the restaurant.Especially at the redheaded one.Everyone had the same reaction all staring at the three amazed at each one's own beauty & elegance .

The waiter escorted them to their respected seats."What are you ordering darling?"Kurama asked directed to Mai.Hiei just bit his lower lip.

"Ummmm...let's see"Mai scanning the menu."I'll have Steamed Lobster,Crab & Corn soup for dessert I'll have Black Forrest & for drinks I'll have champagne."Ok"Kurama reads his own menu"I'll have Steak with saute'd vegetables,no dessert & two bottles of champagne.& as for Hiei he will have roasted chicken,chocolate mousse,sundae with chocolate fudge ." Kurama finished since he knows Hiei do not know how to read.He just ordered what he knows his bestfriend will like.

"Ok sir is that all?"the waiter asked politely.

"Ah doumo that's all."as Kurama handed the menu.

The waiter left & to pass time they start a conversation which Hiei does not intend to join. Unfortunately Mai is very curious & start asking or should we say intimidating Hiei.

"Hiei-san,where do you live?"asked Mai drinking a glass of champagne.

"Faraway"Hiei reply back.

"So where are your parents?"

"Dead"

Mai was shocked & felt pity over the boy."I'm sorry."

Hiei just looked oddly at Mai."Hn."

& before Mai could asked any more questions for the mean time Kurama interrupted."Dinner is here"Kurama intervened.

While eating the eating gets more interesting."So how do you met my Shuuichi."Hiei glared at Mai's words but hid it quickly before Mai noticed it."Try to kill him."Mai blinked a few times trying to figure out if it was some joke or the truth.She didn't think that his fiancee's friend has a sense of humor in his body.Kurama is trying to act as if he is hearing just a normal conversation but one could easily perceived his uneasiness.

The second question Mai brought out crumbles all of Kurama's calm defense.

"So do you have any girl friends Hiei-san?"asked Mai with glint in her eyes out of curiousity. Hiei's eyes widened & if not for Kurama's presence & being his fiancee',Mai might be ashes by now so he just ignored the question Kurama signalled to Mai to drop the subject while Hiei is not looking the girl obeyed it hesitantly.After a few moments Hiei suddenly answered when the topic is thought forgotten. Both eyes focused on him."No,I don't have any."after another silence.Hiei smiled evilly baring his slight fang,eyes mirroring mischief & suddenly side glancing Kurama".....But I intend on stealing one."Kurama almost spit the wine that he is drinking while listening to Hiei in front of Mai's face with that remark.He looks at Hiei with stunned eyes.What the hell does that mean & why is Hiei looked at me as if I'm a juicy morsel,the funny thing is I am not upset but in fact liking it.Maybe it is just the wine.Kurama justified.

Staring at the kitsune & enjoying the reaction."Steal?"asked Mai,looking perplexed.Hiei turned his attention to Mai"Yes,I will.& when I get it I will never let go & I'll make sure that the other won't claim it back."Hiei spoke calmly but slyness is present in his words.His hands "accidentally" falls on Kurama's lap.Then gently & rhythmically rubbing it back & forth.

Kurama could feel the youkai's not so innocent hand rubbing his legs.He felt uncomfortable but could not shove the hand without drawing suspcion to the mind of his bride.He felt a familiar heat stirring in to his stomach & groin.Sweats are forming in his temple.He turned pale & cold he try to take breaths but with cretain uneasiness he gives large gulps & a visible sign of nervousness.

This didn't go unnoticed by the other company.She was just about to asked Hiei another question about his answered since he didn't clearly comprehend what he says but noticed Shuu-kun trembling & pale.Mai frowned "Honey,are you okey?You look like sick?"asked Mai putting a hand on Kurama's forehead.Checking if he has a fever or have too much wine.

Kurama finally regained his composure gently removing the hand in his forehead."I-i-i'm fine maybe I just have too much wine.I just wanna go home & rest if you don't mind"came a trembly voice wiping the sweat in his face.

"Okey love,Hiei-san is it alright to you if we leave a little earlier?"asked Mai.

"Hn.Doesn't matter."as he stand up.

They left a bit hurriedly mostly Kurama.Mai insist on driving but Kurama's stubborness won.Although he still look pale & disorganized his driving seems unaffected.He dropped Mai in her home,kiss her goodnight seeing this scene,Hiei scowled & turn away.Mai waved bye to Kurama & then to Hiei who just nodded.

As they finally leave to go home Hiei's mood suddenly become cheery again."So you staying in the house for tonight?"Kurama ask finally regaining composure & trying to forget what happened earlier."Hn.if you like"Kurama take that answer as a yes.

Then Hiei leaned on Kurama's shoulder & gently rub Kurama's legs again.Kurama could not protest because he like that caress very much.

Trying very hard to resist a very sensual pleasure he try to divert his mind elsewhere "So,ah..Hiei I really hope you will come at the party three days before our marriage"asked Kurama.Hiei snorted I hate ningen paties it's too noisy & too stupid but I need all the time to get Kurama Hiei think to himself.So Hiei just shrugged & say "Ok".& leaned against Kurama's shoulder.

When they arrived the Hatanaka's residence everyone is asleep.So they silently go to Kurama's room with ease since both are respected thiefs in the Makai.

Kurama went to his bathroom & wear a red pajama.While Hiei just stood in the windowsill scowling & with arms crossed in his chest.After Kurama is dressed he get an extra blanket & spread it over the floor."I don't need a blanket."spoke Hiei."It's not for you it's for me you take the bed"said Kurama casually.

"I don't want to."snapped Hiei."Well if you are not going to sleep on it I won't."replied Kurama.Then Hiei smiled evilly"I will take the bed on one condition."

"What?"asked Kurama with curiosity."You will share the bed with me."Hiei replied with a glint in his ruby eyes.

What the hell are you tring to tell me Hiei if I didn't know you better I swear you are seducing me.Kurama mused.You've been doing these weird things ever since you step into my room.But then another thought crossed his mind.Are you insane Kurama?Hiei is not like that there you go again assuming things.He is your bestfriend for goodness sake.That little thought pierce his heart like a sharp knife.Are you having recurring thoughts about your wedding.Oh Inari help me.A low sultry voice interrupts his chain of thoughts."I'm still waiting for a reply here."scowling with annoyance showing in his voice.

Don't make stupid assumptions.He scolded himself.Don't let your imagination run away it is only a simple gesture of friendship.& maybe he really miss me he thought."Okay Hiei we will share the bed."Kurama sighed & put his pillow & blanket on the narrow bed naturally fit for only one.Then his subconcious justified,Wait a minute Hiei showing sign of friendship you have got to be kidding.Shut up! he gritted his teeth."Well what are you waiting for?"asked by an impatient Koorime lying comfortably on the bad half of his body covered by a blanket.

"All right,all right I'm coming.Hey you never was like this last time we met What happened to you?"He asked as he walked towards the bed.Hiei smiled without the usual mockness, annoyance or sarcasm in the smile."Nothing I just missed you"Kurama's heart skipped a beat as he saw Hiei's genuine smile.Oh Inari he looked so Kawaii if he smiled like that.Shit! you are turning into a pervert Kurama he warned himself.So in order for his mind to stop thinking of it he let imself resigned to drowsiness"Good night Hiei."he sleepily reached for the lampshade & turm it of."Hn.good night Kurama"came a drowsy murmur.As he wrapped his arms around the Kitsune's waist.

Kurama to sleepy to protest ignored the embrace & fallen asleep.

Yes,Kurama only a matter of time before you are mine this is Hiei last thoughts as he drifts to sleep.
