Pokemon Trading Cards
(Topps)
I
picked up these cards at the end of August 1999. Made and distributed
by Topps (Topps Company Inc., Duryea, PA 18642), these
cards are based on the animation. There are 90 cards in this set:
8 to a pak, including a "foil" card. The foil cards look the same
as the regular cards, but the background is sort of shiny - like foil.
Nidoran cards - "foil" and regular card shown
(scanning reflective cards alter the colors as seen by the naked
eye)
As far as I can
tell, there are two types of cards. The first are numbered Pokemon
cards, as shown above and below. On the back of these cards is given
information on the Pokemon: type, description, first TV episode appearance,
etc. There is also a "who's that pokemon?" silhouette
outline on each card.
There are also
the "TV" Cards. On the back of these cards is another image.
It looks like when you put the "TV" cards together, you get one full picture,
like getting pieces of a puzzle. The middle card shown below is the
back of the "James" card.
