Almost every college student's goal for
life
after college is to get a real job,
be
independent and
live on their own. That was my
goal too. So I went through all the resume writing and interviewing.
Well,
now that I have found a job, what's next? Suddenly the idea
of being out on my own is, well ... a little scary.
I
need a place to live,
a car, insurance
... and what is that 401k
plan that I keep hearing about? IRA's,
CD's,
HMOs,
PPOs,
what??? If you
feel as lost
as I am, then this page is for you.
I've done some searching on my own and have come up with some answers to
the above questions as well as some tips to help
you make a smooth transition
from college
life to the real
world. For those of you who haven't found
a job yet, I have included a section titled
Getting
a Job which helps you through all the gruesome
job search, resume
writing as well as some other things that you will encounter. This
page doesn't give you everything that you need to know, but it should serve
as a guide to what you need to be aware of.
