It was almost 10 years ago when my parents sent me away to a boarding school in Boston. I remember the last words that my father told me before they had to go home to Indonesia, "Fiona... someday you will be able to speak English fluently and live happily with your own dreams. When you do, I will be very proud of you and never regret of sending you away from home to become what you would be..."

I did not always live in the land of dreams. But I spent most of my childhood happily, with much passion and love. I loved being a child. I never wanted to grow up. Being a child seemed to have endless happiness. That changed though. I had to grow up because life is an endless process. I learnt and learnt and am still learning. Experiences give me strength to survive and grow up.

I am a Chinese. I was born in Indonesia, raised with a mixed Chinese and Indonesian culture, went to a boarding school in Boston, spent one year at a women's college in Los Angeles, moved to stay in Vancouver. I am a young woman who is still searching the true meaning of my own life. I have awesome things to happen in my life right now: a supportive family, and a great circle of friends.

I have dreams.. big dreams and little dreams, just like Cinderella. I keep on believing that the dreams will come true because everybody has their own wishes and hopes.

- PAPA, I can't say it... You are just such a wonderful father. Words can't describe how much you mean to me. To me, you are just a father who knows how to introduce all sides of life. A mentor who taught me to be strong and be able to stand on my ground. I can't imagine how hard you have worked for my education. Thank you for believing in me, always.

- MAMA, You are always there for me. You always tell me that I can do whatever I want to do and be whoever I want to be, because you love and believe in me. Your faith means everything to me.  I can always count on your support and spirit. You are a great mom who has never enough love to give me. It's been hard since I am away from home. I miss having our chat.

- SISTER, A word can't describe you enough. You are the "jade" of the family. I am so proud of you. It seems that your energy never stops. It's been a tough year, but I am so proud of what you have done with dad's business. You can make things happen because you have faith in yourself. We have grown closer each year and I can't be more happier. I always look up to you. You are a great photographer and a wonderful sister who never has enough love to give me.

- BROTHER, my little bro... I can't believe that you are getting so mature this year :) I feel that I can take care of you forever. But, I am so glad to see that you are way ahead to a nice journey in your life this year. Have faith in everything that you do, bro.... Just when you think that things just seems impossible, always remember that I have faith in you.
