There is some cancer information on general medical webpages such as healthfinder and
the Mayo Clinic as well as on the specialized pages listed below.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society�s page and the information is well presented, there is a news section and it also has statistics. It has statistics going back to 1997. Statistics also include cancer data for states. There is some information available in Spanish.
National Cancer Institute
This is the National Cancer Institute and it has statistics. The information on cancer treatment is good, there is a dictionary of cancer terms, and information on types of cancer including breast cancer, lung cancer, and skin cancer among others.
The Cancer Information Service is a program of the NCI and worth looking at. People can order cancer publications from this service. There is a 1-800 number, 1-800-4-CANCER.
University of Pennsylvania's Cancer Center
The information about the types of cancer is very good, there is a news archive going back to 1999. The section on treatment options is good and there is a option to ask question of doctors working at the center.
M. D. Anderson Cancer Center
This site has good information about cancer as well as information about services provided by the center. Cancerwise This is M. D. Anderson's monthly publication about cancer. There are archives going back to June 2000.
MEDLINEplus Cancer
This is a collection of cancer news and links from the national library of medicine. It is a fairly large collection of links, including links about nutrition, research, treatment, latest news, clinic trials, and statistics among other subjects. Texas Cancer Registry
It has data on cancer in Texas, including a report on prostate cancer in Texas and a Texas cancer morality report for 1999. It also has a good collection of cancer links.
