Profile: In 1999, Walker came to the popular Dragon Forest of those days, intending see the new Rhy'Din world well before the corruption spread to total domination on the accursed island. Here, Dragons roamed freely like Dinosaurs in their time, mingling among the various trees and getting along with each other despite what normal racial differences would secure... Indeed, it was a haven, and no man knew this better than Slane Trueheart. Slane was a warrior with a love for the Dragon race and a knack for meditation even in the worst of circumstances. When Walker met Alliana and Slane there in different parts and they all ended up hanging out together, Walker began a debate with Alliana that quickly escalated to an argument, and it was there Slane began his long-standing friendship with Walker as his negotiator.
Joining the UGoI shortly thereafter, Slane proved to be an excellent source of entertainment, and a perpetual existence in the Sheffield Arms Inn--similar to the way Bo Bafett is now. He came and went as he pleased, using his power of teleportation and whim to create wines and golds as he felt like it from his own personal reserves. In battle, he proved to be both competent and invaluable, most notably during the kidnapped baby case, where a friend of Walker's named Lita ended up getting her new baby stolen from her and her husband. Quick to take back what was removed, Walker and Slane marched to their fortress, broke the walls down, and killed the Demons behind it, and saved the young one. In the meantime, also acted as a constant moral support to Walker and Sarah's constant relationship problems.
Slane also introduced his adopted daughter Mercy Trueheart (now Mercy Kane) to the group, and she actually joined in, becoming an invaluable assistance to the House of Bellmont guild when it was around. However, as time went on, Mercy's involvement in the UGoI lead to her considering darker and darker roads. By 2001, she eventually got romantically interested in Renki' Sar Kane, and Slane found this problematic at best. By the time she married him and disappeared with him to join his dark empire on his quest to evil as Gameron Garcross, Slane had considered Mercy no daughter of his, for Slane--the Paladin Ranger--would never condone such actions. Not so long later, Slane disappeared from Rhy'Din as a whole, with absolutely no word of his departure or goodbyes to his companions. It is uncertain if he's even alive.
Personality: Slane 's main desire is to remain neutral in the conflict between Alliana, Sarah, and Walker (who wants Rhy'Din safe for his own). He wants to mediate any conflict and find a way to resolve the situation peacefully. He has seen what hatred can do (to both the Dragons of the forest and to himself), and doesn't wish for others to share his fate. In addition, Slane is reluctant to engage in conflict and battle (mainly do to the effects of his curse). He warns off attacking knights several times before fighting back, prevents the people of Rhy'Din from killing Sarah, and then keeps Sarah and Mercy from killing each other. However, if forced to fight, he does not hold back -- as numerous men find out to their regret.
