PG-13 /~~~~~The rating!
Are those your eyes, is that your smile
I've been lookin' at you forever
But I never saw you before
Are these your hands holdin' mine
Now I wonder how I could of been so blind
For the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein' who you are
I can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin' back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...
Can this be real, can this be true
Am I the person I was this morning
And are you the same you
It's all so strange how can it be
All along this love was right in front of me
For the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein' who you are
I can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin' back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...
Such a long time ago
I had given up on findin' this emotion...
Ever again
But you live with me now
Yes I've found you some how
And I've never been so sure
And for the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein' who you are
Can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin' back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...

For The First Time (Epilogue)

My mother tells that me and Mamoru were friends since I was just a
newborn baby. She was walking through the park, when a young boy of
four accidentally bumped into her. My mom being the kind women she is
quickly helped to his feet. This is where I first met Mamoru Chiba
and though I can't remember it the story my mother tells me plays
in my mind like a movie. As a curious three year old Mamoru couldn't
resist peeking into the stroller and taking a glance at me. And this
when Mamoru first met me, Usagi Tsukino. He tells me now that this
memory lays deep in him mind, a tiny child only about a month old
with soft marigold hair and sapphire eyes. Mamoru swears my first
smile was to him. From then he and I were best friends. We were
confidants, amigos, whatever you wanna call us. All we knew was
that we depended on one another for everything. But one day it
changed.
************************************************************************
"Don't tell me you still hang out with that baby!", One boy said to
Mamoru as seven year old Usagi trailed beside him. Mamoru couldn't
helped but be embarassed by the little girl beside him. Usagi was
one of his best friends though. On the other hand no one wanted to
play with him whenever she was around.
"Of course I don't hang out with her!", Mamoru scoffed and out of
the corner of his eyes he saw Usagi's eyes fill with tears. Inside
he felt his heart breaking as he saw it. But no one would stop making
fun of him until he would. "My mom makes me take her around"
"Well ditch her and then come with us to the park", another boy said
as they ran off to the park. Mamoru heard their teasing laughter and
quickly he whipped his hand away from Usagi's.
"Go home Usagi", Mamoru said angrily that he was being teasing.
"But I wan-", Usagi whined.
"NO JUST GO HOME!", he shouted and Mamoru saw that tears had fallen
from her face. He felt a pang of guilt as he ran and left the young
girl behind.
***********************************************************************
After that things weren't the same, Mamoru refused to talk to me since
his friends taught that communicating with a girl was disgusting. I was
too young then to understand the sense of belonging children need. I
was hurt and after that I wouldn't talk to him though our parents kept
their friendship. It would take my leaving to bring us back together...
**********************************************************************
Usagi sat in the backseat of her car as her parents bid farewell to
Mamoru's parents, Toshiro and Maeko. She sat in the back sadly and
she couldn't help but let the tears from her eyes. She was leaving
her home. Maeko opened the cardoor and seeing that Usagi was in
tears she had gathered the young girl into a warm embrace. How she
loved this girl like a daughter.
"Oh Usa, don't cry. We'll see each other again", Maeko assured her.
Stepping back she saw that Mamoru stood behind his mother looking
shyly at her. He sat beside her in the car quietly, it had been
awhile since they talked. Four years actually.
"Hey", he started. "Usako, I'm so sorry for the way I treated you
back then and I understand why you haven't talk to me all these
years-"
"No time for apologies Mamo-chan", she said softly and looked up
at him with her clear blue eyes. She hugged tightly and then kissed
him on the cheek. Mamoru closed his eyes remembering the moment.
"Goodbye" He gazed at her memorizing her face.
"I have something for you", Mamoru told her and out of his pocket
came a star locket. It sparkled and when she opened it a romantic
tune played. "Don't forget me Usako"
"Never", she promised him as he got out and closed the door behind
him. She rolled down her window and smiled at him sadly. As the car
drove off, Mamoru watched it until finally it disappear. Something
inside of him told him that somehow just somehow fate would bring
them together again.
