Usagi stared out the window of her old bedroom. Glancing around, she
saw the relics of her childhood. The stuffed bunnies and pink sheets.
Old toys and awards from school were strewn about. God, she missed
being a kid.Sometimes when she was fourteen, she felt forty. That was
after she found out she was Sailormoon. Silly that she had wished to
be a superhero so badly. Usagi turned and saw that Mamoru had entered
the room. In his hand was a walking stick to prevent him from bumping
into anything.
"Usako, is everything alright?",he asked worriedly."You were so quiet
today at dinner"
"It's hard to find a conversation topic after you tell your parents
you're a sailor senshi" she replied and took his hand. After she had
told her parents, her mother had cried. She had felt that should have
at least had clue. How could a mother not notice that her child was
leaving her bedroom at night? Or that her daughter had died? She didn't
need to tell them who the others were,they had figured it out. Usagi
laughed to herself thinking of her father's reaction.
"What's so funny?" Mamoru inquired as he sat next to her and wrapped
his arms around her waist. As much as he could anyways. She was a week
overdue.She laid her head back against him.
"I was just thinking of my dad's one hour lecture on 'Why the Sailor
Senshi skirts should be longer'" she said to him.Usagi also had to
repeat the whole Chibi-Usa story. He couldn't grasp the concept of how
a fourteen year old could have a child. Kenji had also been angry when
he found out who the father was.He didn't get that Chibi-Usa was their
child in the FUTURE. No kind of conception had happened when she was
fourteen. Her spirits dimmed however and for some reason a blanket of
sadness had come over her.
"Usako, can I tell you something?" Mamoru asked quietly in her
ear.Shivers ran down her spine as she felt his breath against her ear.
"Of course Mamo-chan,never hesitate to ask me anything",she said to
him lovingly.
"I'm scared." he replied.
"Why?"she answered back.
"When you fight this guy, there is this possiblity that you might not
come back," he said. "I believe in you, but I'm also afraid because
I can't be there to protect you" He kissed her neck."Nowadays, I keep
asking myself why us? Why do we have to fight?"
"The senshi fight for peace and justice--and of course for love." She
told him. "I am not afraid anymore.Whatever happens, happens.You can't
stop your fate, Mamo-chan. And whatever happens, which I doubt anything
will,we will see each other again. In Paradise. I promise" He kissed
her hair, inhaling the scent."And you know what?" She put Mamoru's
hand on her stomach, and he felt the strong, but sure kick of his
child."This is why I fight"

The light of the moon glowed upon the asphalt and the Senshi looked
around. Each step they made a signal,a made up dance to create the look
of fighting stances. They talked in whispers, similar to the small
howlings of the wind.
"Ready?" Uranus asked in a low, quiet voice. Sailormoon nodded and it
began.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MADE US COME OUT HERE!",Sailor Mars yelled in a
haughty tone."This is the last time we believe one of your foolish
notions!"
"Yeah Sailormoon,the next time you call us make sure it's something
worth coming out for!" Sailor Venus said and in her head,congratulated
herself on her great acting job. All of them glared and walked
off, leaving Sailormoon to herself.
"Well there's something out here, I know it and I'm gonna find it!"
Sailormoon responded, determined.
"Well find it alone;we're leaving" Everyone glared at her for a moment
and walked off. Uranus walked the slowest, not really wanting to leave
her friend alone. 'Keep safe Usa.'
Usagi walked around the factory buildings. The darkness intimidated
her, and she looked up at how tall it was.Usagi didn't notice that
she wasn't alone.The senshi had hidden in one the buildings and were
peering from the windows of the top floor. Also in Usagi's
transformation brooch, was an advanced tracking system linked to Ami,it
was the size of an small diamond earring. A microphone was also in the
brooch linked to The Three Lights and Mamoru back in the Tsukino
household. Kenji,Ikuko,and Shingo insisted on being able to listen;
they didn't know what they were getting into. Another thing Usagi
didn't notice was the huge boulder right in front of her. As she
landed,Usagi cursed and hoped her parents didn't hear that.They heard.
"You know where she got that language right?",Ikuko said."It's from all
those times you yelled about her and Mamoru going out! We have thin
walls you know-" They stopped when they heard a new voice.
"Let me help you up" Usagi took the stranger's hand but pulled away
when she saw the face of a sneering Nephrus."Miss me?"
"No but I'm sure someone will when I get rid of you." she said and he
smiled cruelly at her. He circled her and she stood stiffly.
"Where are your friends?" he asked.
"We got in a fight,they didn't believe me when I thought I smelled a
rat around here" she responded hatefully.
"Now you don't expect me to believe that! I know that this is a
setup, a way to get me to come here! You know, live bait." he said in
her ear.
"Great idea, Ami," Minako said from the factory."The villain knew our
plan."
"It worked,didn't it?" she answered back. Outside, Usagi began to feel
herself sweat. The way he leered at her, he made her uneasy.
"So where are they?" Nephrus asked, his temper growing.
"I said, they left",she repeated to him.
"I KNOW THEY'RE HERE AND IF THEY ARE THEY SHOULD SHOW THEMSELVES
NOW!",Nephrus yelled and grabbed her waist.With one hand he held her
arm and in the other a knife."I WILL USE THIS KNIFE,DO YOU HEAR ME?!"
From the factory the senshi debated whether or not he was bluffing.
"He is holding a knife and he is threatning on using it!",Haruka
argued.
"He won't hurt her,this guy is infatuated with her!" Ami responded.
"But if he lays a hand on her.We get his ass."
"No one belives huh?",he said and grin horribly."We'll see about that"
With that, Nephrus made a swift but deep cut into Usagi's lower arm.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"Usagi screamed in pain. From the Tsukino household
Ikuko cried out for her daughter.
"My baby! Someone help her!",Ikuko sobbed into her husband's
chest. Kenji, Shingo and Mamoru were all ready to dash out of that
house and kill the jerk themselves, but they knew it was impossible.
As Mamoru listened he felt her pain. He remembered the words she had
once said to him.'Your pain is my pain'. His eyes filled with tears.
'God, don't take her from me. Give her strength, give me strength'
"She must fight her own battles" Kenji said to his wife trying to
soothe her and himself.
"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU GUYS SAY!I'M GOING DOWN THERE!I WON'T LET HIM
HURT HER!" Haruka yelled as Michiru held her down. Andrew was already
halfway out of the building. Rei looked from the window, tears
streaming from her face.She turned around.
"Let her go",she said simply. "I agree with her. I won't let Nephrus
touch her again" They ran downstairs and as they reach the front door
they stopped, and Haruka calmly opened the door.She walked outside and
the others filed behind her.
"This is why you should never lie to me" Nephrus said to Usagi
breathing hard. He looked up at them and gave them a disgusting smile.
"You see what you made me do!" They all looked at Usagi and their
heart's let out a sickening thud. Blood had stained her uniform and
her face had turned a sickly white.They saw that she had weakened from
the loss of blood.
"Your fight is with me,not them",Usagi said weakly.
"I agree with you and to make sure--I'll have to get rid of them. Now
you see them..." He snapped his fingers."...Now you don't !" They were
gone,all of them. Usagi cried out loudly. She could see Rei's scared
face in her mind.
"You son of a bitch, let them go !" Usagi sobbed.
"We've lost contact with the others",Taiki said quietly. 'Setsuna...'
A flash of light appeared and as it faded Taiki looked down to see
Ami's tracking device on the table.On the screen, a pink light blinked,
but any sign that the others were still alive couldn't be shown.
"You wanted a fight and now we're gonna have it !" Nephrus said as
Usagi was blinded by a flash of light.As she opened her eyes she
realized she was alone.The place was dim with black marble floors and
blackwalls.Only darkness greeting her.She stood up but she was
wobbling a bit. Loss of blood.
"You like it?" Usagi whipped around to see Nephrus smiling
at her."Inherited it from my mother"
"Nice decorating, now where are my friends?",Usagi asked.
"I don't think you wanna see this",he said to her admiring how
beautiful she looked. Weakness only made her more innocent, more
vunerable.This appealed to him. On the other hand, she was here to die.
"If you think you can handle this" Before they appeared. But in
coffins,glass coffins. She gasped and fell back.
"Oh God they’re in coffins...glass coffins",she choked out. Usagi
forgot that she was being recorded. She turned and looked at him
in fury. "You bastard! You wanna a fight! I will give it to you! I
hate you!"
"I can't say the feeling's mutual",he said and grabbed her injured arm.
Pulling her close to him,Nephrus kissed her neck inhaling her sweet
smell.
"Hands off.",she said and pulled away, even though it felt as if her
arm had been torn off. He pursued and pulled her tighter to him. As her
anger rose, she snapped. Usagi landed a quick punch to his face and in
fury he returned with a hard hit to her cheek.The others heard the
*SMACK* as his hand came to her face. Kenji's fist was so tight that
smoke was coming out of it.
"NEVER EVEN THINK THAT YOU COULD EVEN DEFEAT ME!",he yelled in anger
and landed another smack on her face.Usagi fell to the floor and in
his fit of fury he kicked her in her stomach.'Oh God...' The pain
in her abdomen was crushing.'My baby, please be okay, Chibi-Usa'
She wasn't giving up yet.Yes she was getting the crap kicked out
of her but she wasn't done. Fighting weakness, Usagi got up quickly
and kicked Nephrus in the stomach. As he got up she quickly smack his
face backhanded. She stopped suddenly when a fit of dizziness took
over. Looking at her arm she realized that the wound had not stopped
bleeding.
"DID YOU THINK I WAS WEAK YOU BASTARD!" she yelled angrily as he laid
on the floor she kicked again and knocked the breath out of him.
"Contrary to what your mother has said about me,I DO fight back"
As Usagi turned to see if she could somehow help her friends,Nephrus
stood up and in madness took out his knife. He lunged forward and as
she turned the knife plunged into the side of her stomach.She fell
to her knees and she knew she was losing. "Mamo-chan" Her voice
came out weak and sad as the tears fell out of her eyes.On the
other side of the line, Mamoru fell to the floor.He heard her
voice; it was like a whisper of goodbye.
"Usako.",he whispered and the pain in his abdomen spread.It was like
a wildfire.All around him Usagi's family crowded over him as the Lights
listened to see what was happening to Usagi. 'Don't give up my darling
Princess,you're not done yet.' Usagi heard her husband's voice clear in
her head and stood up feeling some strength returning.As she wiped the
sweat off her forehead,Nephrus inched towards her the knife in his
hand.The knife plunged forward to Usagi's spine and suddenly she turned
around kicking the knife into Nephrus's chest. He fell to the floor
gasping in pain,he looked up at her with anger in his eyes--but at the
same time sadness. He had never felt love except the for the one he
harbored in his put away heart-- for Usagi. Laying there, dying,
Nephrus watched as Sailormoon began to focus and he felt himself
leaving his body. He didn't want to go! The little wench!
"You whore" he hissed and Usagi watched as his soul began to shrink.
She concentrated and a black jewel appeared in her palm.Her energy was
leaving her but she still had enough. Enough to trap him in here.
Slowly Nephrus's soul began to be sucked into the jewel. As the
last bit of him was captured, his body began to crumble into sand.Then
he was gone. 'I did it.I defeated him' Usagi fell to the ground and the
darkness was spreading. Her vision was blurring and she could hear her
heart slowing down.Thump...Thump...Thump........Thump........Thump
She began to cry,Usagi knew her destiny. To be like her mother,to
sacrifice herself for the people she loved and the peace she wanted.
It was just too bad she couldn't enjoy that peace with her friends
and family.'Mamo-chan' She would be happy knowing that her last thought
was of him.'If I could wish for anything,I wish Mamo-chan could see
and I wish my baby would live' With this last thought Usagi let herself
fall into the darkness.

As they landed in on the concrete with loud THUMPS the Senshi realized
that they were back but not in the factory but in the park for
some reason.
"My butt..."Minako moaned. "Oh god,I felt like I've been thrown from
the sky."
"I think we were."Michiru said and got up to stretch."Is everyone
alright?"
"Yeah" Andrew said and put his fallen mask on his face."Some Tuxedo
Kamen I made" Rei put a hand on her shoulder.
"It happens to the best of us",she assured him."What happened?"
"I believe somehow the Princess defeated Nephrus" Setsuna said and
grinned but then it faded when they all realized that Usagi was not
there.
"Ohmigod where's Usa?",Hotaru said and stood up."WHERE IS SHE?!"
"I don't know!",Makoto yelled panicking.Tears began to burn under her
eyelids.'Please let her be alright'
"Everyone split up and in ten minutes we'll meet up" They nodded and
all of them were off.Rei dashed from each corner of the park to
another.She didn't even realize that she was crying.'Usa please
be okay.Please!'All of a sudden they heard Ami yell.Running quickly
Rei stopped in her tracks as she saw Ami holding Usagi's body.Her
uniform was torn and her face was bruised.Usagi's arm was bloody and
to their horror a stab wound was on the side of her stomach.Rei covered
her mouth to stop her sobs. It didn't seem as if she was breathing.Or
even alive.
"Is she...",Minako said before bursting into tears.Ami looked up at
them,tears in her eyes....
