On February 7th, the Japanese seiyuu, Shiho Niiyama, passed
away of a leukemia like disease. She was 29 years old. Best known
for her role as Seiya Kou/Sailor Starfighter from Bishoujo Soldier
Sailormoon.
My story is dedicated to her. May she rest in peace.

Then You Look At Me (Chapter Five: Recalled to Life)

"AHHHH!", Usagi groaned in pain though it came out a small squeak.
Where was her husband?! "Mamo-chan? Where is he?"
"Ma'am after you slapped him in the face he ran crying", The nurse
said as she adjusted the pillow and checked the monitor. Usagi gasped
for breath and the nurse took her hand while smoothing her hair.
"Don't worry dear, he'll be fine"
"He really loves me you know", Usagi breathed. "Sometimes I'm so bad
to him" The nurse shook her head disagreeing. "It's true but I love
him so much and I'm about to have his baby" With that thought she
smiled and followed it with a loud scream. "AHHHHHHH!"
"I think it's about time to let him to the battlefield", The doctor
remarked. "In a few minutes you're about to be a mother, Mrs.Chiba"

"Okay Mamoru, BREATHE", Seiya emphasized and let the father-to-be take
his deep breaths. In the few months they had Mamoru and Seiya had become
best friends though hard to believe. For Mamoru it was like Seiya was
his little brother and for Seiya it seemed that Mamoru was the big
brother who always helped him out. It had been out of sympathy that
Mamoru had befriended at first but in time they began to trust each
other and in that a bittersweet friendship formed.
The thing was, inside of Seiya's heart he still held a deep longing
and desire for Usagi who remained his friend through it all. The
rivalry was there no doubt but the two felt they should keep it
underwraps.
"Seiya...I can't go in there...she slapped me...", Mamoru said
panicking and hyperventilating almost. "...I'm scared...I'm going to
be a dad" He looked up at Seiya with fear in his eyes. "I'm gonna have
someone to take care of and I don't know how"
"No one does", He replied. "But the thing is you're a good guy and I
KNOW you'll be a good dad. Just gotta have a little faith you will"
He smiled reassuringly. "And plus...you've got a bunch of bonafide
babysitters out there in the hall" Mamoru nodded and smiled. Fixing
himself up he got ready to leave but suddenly turned to his friend.
"Seiya...come with me", Mamoru pleaded. "...I'm more scared than you
think" Seiya nodded and followed him to the delivery room where a
sweaty, tired and VERY Usagi laid in her hospital bed. "Usako, how
are you feeling?"
"How do you THINK I'm feeling?", Usagi asked, her eyes flashing. "I'm
lying here in PAIN while you sit there in a nice, clean and not sweaty
hospital suit and watch me squeeze this child out into the world..."
With that she started crying. "...I hate you!"
"You don't mean that Odango", Seiya said and took her wet hand. She
was quick to reprise him by grabbing his long hair.
"What do YOU know?", Usagi said. "You're on HIS side" Pushing him
away she cried out in pain. "Nobody can feel my pain!"
"Mrs.Chiba, PUSH", The doctor commanded.
"AHHHHHHH", She said her mouth pursed. Usagi concentrated and Mamoru
watched as the crescent moon on her forehead started to glow a bright
yellow. The doctor stood in awe for a minute. "AHHHHHH" A explosion of
light filled the room and before they knew it there stood Sailor Mercury
who had just delivered the baby. The doctor and his nurses had been
passed out on the floor. Usagi sat up, tears in her deep blue eyes and
she smiled. "Is that my baby?" Mercury nodded and detransformed.
"A girl, a beautiful, big baby girl", Ami said crying as she handed
the child to Usagi. "Chibi-Usa, Neo-Princess Serenity..."
"We have a daughter", Mamoru breathed and sat on the bed with his wife.
He held out his finger and his little one grabbed on to his index finger.
"My sweet Chibi-Usa, you've come back to us" He kissed Usagi's forehead.
"I love you Usako"
"I know Mamo-chan, I know...", She said lovingly to Mamoru and then
looked up at Seiya. "Seiya, say hello to your god-daughter, you're an
uncle. Come give her a kiss" Hesitantly he went toward them and was
handed the child. She smelt sweet.
"Hello baby...I'm your uncle Seiya", He introduced himself and kissed
the child's forehead. His eyes filled with tears of happiness. "From
now on you're my special girl" He looked up at Usagi who he knew was
his first special girl and smiled at her.
This was what life was all about it.

"Ohhhh she's SO cute!", Minako cooed into the bassinet. In a small
bunny baby suit laid Chibi-Usa who eyes looked at Minako in curiousity.
"I love her already!" Taking a small stuffed animal Minako danced it
around the crib and the response was a shrill cry from the baby.
"Honey, I think it's about time you got away from her...", Yaten said
and took his girlfriend away from the crib. The next two to see the
baby were Rei and Yuuichirou. Leaning her hand against the bassinet
Rei's golden wedding band shone in the light.
"She's adorable...I want one too!", Rei pronounced and the others
laughed at the look on Yuuichirou's face.
"One at a time honey, we've only been married for a month", He said.
"She looks just like you Usa", Makoto remarked as she took the baby
from her crib and held her. Chibi-Usa gurgled contentdly at all the
attention she was getting and Ami wrapped the blanket around the baby
more snuggly.
"I thought that she would come once Crystal Tokyo had risen", Ami
said and looked at Setsuna who was in the midst of knitting a baby
bonnet. Her dark eyes met Ami's blue eyes.
"What I know I can't revealed, things have a way of changing
themselves", She said hauntingly and went back to the bonnet.
"How is our princess?" A cry came from the child and Makoto
handed her the baby.
"Very hungry", Usagi said and took the child to her chest. The men in
the room turned bright red and turned quickly.
"I'm...gonna...go out to eat!", Seiya said and walked out quickly.
"And I'm gonna joined you!", Yaten also said turning pale.
"Me too!", Taiki said.
"Count me in!", Yuuichirou said and ran out with them. Minako, Rei,
Ami and Makoto laughed and continued to help organize the nursery
while Haruka and Mirichu watched Usagi continue to feed her child.
Hotaru folded the baby clothes and Mamoru who had just walked in as
all the men RAN out went to his family's side.
He loved the word. Family. Saying it each time gave him a great rush
of happiness and filled the whole inside him that darkened him for so
long and as long as he lived he'd be thankful for his Usako who give
it all to him.
"She's so small Usagi", Mirichu remarked looking at the child who was
being burped. A sense of wanting and adoration came over her.
"You wanna hold her?", She asked and Mirichu backed away.
"I couldn't-"
"Come on"
"I dunno...", She said and without another word Usagi handed her
over. Looking at Haruka with scared eyes she held the baby as if
it was made of glass. Her eyes filled with tears. "She's so beautiful!"
The tears fell and everyone smiled at Mirichu's outburst of affection.
Haruka put an arm around her. "Small Lady..."
"How about we let Haruka hold her?", Usagi suggested.
"No way-OOF!" The baby was quickly put in her hands and Haruka put
the baby at arm's length.
"Hold it like you'd hold a football", Makoto suggested.
"This is how I'D hold a football!", She said and scowled. "I'm a
racer not a football player damnit!" Usagi stood up and showed her
the proper way to hold a baby. Looking into the baby's sweet ruby
eyes Haruka softened. "It's not so bad...I guess..."
"Who knew something so precious would be such a pain coming out",
Mamoru remarked thinking of the slaps Usagi had delivered to his face.
Usagi looked at him and shook her head.
"If you MEN only knew"

~One Year Later~
Seiya parked his black sports car in front of the light pink house.
He hadn't been there in months. The Three Lights had made their comeback
and after their cd had gone gold he had went on tour. Looking at the
mailbox he grinned at the small bunny painted on it and the name 'CHIBA'
painted on it. Holding his back he made his way to front door and rang
the doorbell.
A woman with long blond hair and the sweetest eyes you'd ever seen
answered. Odango. And holding on to her leg was a small child who's
hair was up in little buns, her innocent eyes looked at him.
"SEIYA!", Usagi squealed and ran into his arms. Holding her tight the
feeling in his heart seemed to compress in a tight ball. The love he
felt for her seemed to haunt him every moment of his life. "It's been
so long!"
"No matter what I do Usagi, you've been on my mind", He said and they
were silent for a moment. "Still as beautiful as before" Seiya squatted
down to Chibi-Usa's height and held out an familiar looking doll with
a crescent moon wand. "I thought you'd like her, she looks a lot like
your mom" He winked at Usagi who let a small laugh.
"Pwesent! OH MOMMA IT'S YOU!", Chibi-Usa said and when she hugged
the doll the muffled sounds of the doll calling out attacks flowed
in the room.
"She has a extensive vocab for a one-year-old", Seiya remarked and
the kid was suddenly shy again hiding behind her mother's long leg.
"I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself Chibi-Usa, I'm your uncle Seiya"
"Uncow Seiya?", She said questioningly and looked up at her mom who
nodded.
"Give your uncle a hug darling", Usagi said and to his surprise
Chibi-Usa threw her arms around his muscular leg. He picked her up
and kissed her cheek. Usagi saw her daughter was beginning to ADORE
Seiya. "Still a ladykiller, ne?" He looked at her and she gave him a
captivating smile. "Come in, Yuuichirou and Rei are coming over, and
so is your brother and Minako"
"I haven't seen Yaten in months since I've been promoting the cd by
myself", Seiya informed her. "How are the two doing?"
"Your DEAR brother has gotten Minako PREGNANT", Usagi said. "What do
you say about that?"
"How many months? I can't believe he didn't tell me!", Seiya said.
"She's about ready to pop, he said that it was hard to get in contact
since you've been traveling so much"
"Come in", She urged him and Seiya entered unaware that they were
being watched.

"You're HUGE!", Seiya said as he hugged Minako. Nine months and waiting
Minako Aino stood beaming at him in a vision of sweetness. How serene
she looked. "I'm gonna be an uncle again!"
"Who knew it'd be so soon", Rei said as Yuuichirou sat next to her.
"Yeah but I'm gonna be a dad", Yaten said happily. Seiya looked at
his brother's happy face and a moment of envy came over him. Often
he had been with women, physically and never emotionally. In his
heart he held Usagi so close that the pain would make him feel as
if he was going to combust.
He thoughts were quickly interupted by the sound of a door slamming.
And the familiar dark-haired man came in wearing a white coat and
a tag saying 'Dr.Chiba'
"Daddy!", Chibi-Usa said and let her father scoop her in his arms
lovingly.
"I missed you baby", Mamoru said to his little girl. "Gimme a hug"
She quickly obliged and let her mom sneak a hug. "My beautiful Usako,
how are you today?"
"I missed you but we've got company" He looked over her shoulder
meeting Seiya's eyes and his face lit up.
"Seiya! What are you doing here?", Mamoru asked. Instead of the rude
way he had asked the same question last year it was said with happiness,
a loving way. He had missed his pretend 'brother'. "I missed you bro"
"It's been too damn long Mamoru", He replied in the same happiness.
"Touring was fun but I missed all my friends"
"Tell me about it", Mamoru said and sat down.
"Busy, parties everynight and girls, LOTS of girls", Seiya said and
suddenly had all the men in the room listening. He opened his bag and
handed an album with pictures of various girls. Seiya looked up at
Usagi in sadness, none of them compared to her.
"Oh WOW", Yuuichirou breathed. "That redhead is HOT" Raye scowled.
"I mean she's OKAY"
"She's nothing compared to that brunette", Yaten said and Minako
swatted him in the arm. "But I myself prefer beautiful blondes"
"Hell especially this one", Mamoru cooed unaware that Usagi stood
behind him. "She is cute!" Everyone looked down knowing that Mamoru
was in TROUBLE. He looked at them and winced. "She's right behind me,
isn't she?" They nodded.
"You're so in trouble", She said quietly and walked off.
"OHHH", Makoto said coming from the kitchen. "You're SO in the
doghouse"
"Presents are about the best thing for you right now", Ami advised.
Walking into the room Usagi was in they heard the sound of begging,
pleading and the loud *CRASH* of glass hitting the wall. Mamoru and
Usagi walked into the room, actually Mamoru was CRAWLING.
"Usako, I swear you are the MOST beautiful, MOST enchanting girl-no
women in this universe. And for me Usako, there's no one for me but
YOU", He said sincerely and he hugged her legs like a child. "I love
you"
"I know", Usagi said and smiled peeked into her lovely face. "You can
get up now"
"Can anyone say 'whooped'?", Haruka smirked and Mirichu quickly gave
her lover a nasty look. "I'll just sit down now"
"Good save Mamoru", Hotaru said as she played with Chibi-Usa. She had
come with Haruka and Mirichu who she was staying with. Setsuna had some
sort of Time Gate thing going on. Seiya watched on and it seemed that
a sadness began to grow in him. Usagi stood near him with her husband
close to her. How he needed to hold her, even if it was for a moment.
Tears filled his eyes bitterly when they were interupted by the
apperance of Sailor Pluto.
"Princess, I have bad news", She said. Usagi looked at her and unlike
when she was young she put a calm look on her face, it was almost
regal.
"What is it?", She asked quietly and took hold of her child.
"Someone has crossed the Time Gate", Setsuna said and looked down
ashamed. "I let it happen amongst the commotion, I am ashamed"
"No, you have done a GREAT job", Usagi assured her. "I am proud of
you"
"We have received a message from the visitor", She informed them.
"Ami look in your computer database, the message was left there"
Quickly she typed into her base and their eyes widened at the one
word on the computer.
'REVENGE'
