Gyouza


Gyouza are meat-filled fried dumplings that are loved by Minako and are my favorite food.

Ingredients:

1 package gyouza skins
pork filling:
1 lb. ground pork
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp sugar
1 egg
1 thinly sliced green onion
1 tsp finely chopped ginger
1/2 tsp sesame oil

Directions:

Combine all ingredients for filling, except meat, in bowl with cover. Add meat and mix. Cover and refrigerate for 1/2 hour or overnight. Drop a teaspoon of filling in center of each gyouza skin, moisten edges, fold and seal. Fry in nonstick pan with thin coat of oil until browned on underside. Add 1/4 cup water, cover, and steam until skins are shiny and meat is cooked.
