Jennifer Satterlee woke up with a mighty sneeze as she
groaned to
herself
and climbed out of bed. Her stomach felt like it was
going to explode
>from
the pain and she moved a slow pace, like a snail. She
glanced at her
bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep in the mirror and
grumbled, "Damn
flu."
Slowly she got through with her shower and slipped
into her school
uniform
and grudgingly headed out the door for a miserable day
at Juuban High
School.
Another sneeze echoed through the darkness that was
the Dark Kingdom's
throne room. Sitting on her obsidian throne Beryl
grumbled to herself
as
she sneezed yet again, *Blasted basketball star. Who
cares how much
energy
he gave me or how good he was in the sack or how much
he paid me he
still
gave me this damn human flu. Even my dark magiks
can't expel it now
that
I've caught it.*
She turned towards her globe as it showed the school
of Juuban, *I will
get
my revenge on humanity for their flu though. That I
guarantee.*
Jeremy Satterlee pulled on his uniform jacket as he
finished changing
and
grabbed his small metal flask and slid it into his
jacket pocket and
glanced
around the large home he lived in and shook his head.
Lately it was
seeming
all too empty and large for him.
*Of course it has. Ever since that night back in
December you spent
with
your ex-girlfriend you've been feeling empty. Ever
since Jennifer
showed up
along with Liz you've been feeling guilty about not
being able to
actually
be a part of the family you have. No wonder this
house seems empty,
neither
the mother of your child nor your daughter live here
with you.*
He sighed and collected himself and headed out the
door for another day
of
work, posing as a high school student.
(ooc--I didn't have Rikko's email so if someone could
add it for me it
would
be appreciated)
Yumiko Materyo punched in the keypad on the cash
register. "Flowers,
chicken soup mug, and get well soon card... that'll be
3000 yen,
please...
thank you! Come again."
The customer sniffled as he paid, nodded his thanks
and headed on
out. As
she put the money in the till, her husband pulled out
a handkerchief
and
blew heartily with a HOOOOOOONK!
"Sho!" Yumiko rebuked. "Not in front of the
customers!"
"It's my store, ain't it!?" he shot back crossly.
"I got the right!"
Dura rushed over with a small thermos bottle of hot
tea. "Yeesh,
this flu
bug is getting around fast.
"At least it's keeping our flower business afloat,"
he said.
"I just wish it were for a healthier reason," Yumiko
said sadly.
((OOC: Odd fact: In Japan, it's considered pretty
bad manners to blow
your
nose in public.))
(OOC: Question! Hey, Mr. Jeremey-dude, does this
take place after
Lonely
Hearts or will it be Before?)
Kitsune Jakurin patiently put another blanket on the
shivering body
of
Sennyo Tudo, then padded downstairs to create a sign
that would read
'Closed
due to Illness'.
Sighing a bit in her pajamas, she had had plenty of
rest, and hadn't
moved
around lately, so the flu hadn't gotten her yet. It
had laid up
Ureshii and
her father, however, so Jakurin knew she would have to
miss school.
After pulling down the brown venetian blinds, she
cleared her throat
a bit
and then grinned at herself. She wouldn't need to
speak to 'say' what
she
needed to say.
~Good morning, senshi-chans!~ she sang mentally. ~I
trust everyone
else
is feeling like crap, ne?~
Dura felt her necklace hidden under her school fuku.
~Sorry, no. Er,
well,... I'm sorry I can't commisserate with you right
now. I've
stayed
healthy so far. My mom and dad have a touch, but
nothing serious.
They're
still in business.~
Spotting her daughter apparently staring into space,
her mother
called.
"Dura-chan, focus! You got to get to school!"
~Eep! Gotta go! Call me if you need anything!~
~Will do. Hey, gang. The Sennyos' are sick, too. I
don't think I'll
go
to school, but if anyone wants to come visit me
regardless, I'll come
get ya
on my four-wheeler! The restaurant's closed, though,
so if you're
near-by,
bang on the door.~
Jakurin then stretched herself out, and decided to
head to the
basement to
check up on things.
(OOC: Hey, Garret? Is the Dark Bug still @ the
resteraunt, or has he
gone
to 'live' somewhere else by this time in the story
line?)
ACHOO! Misa was trying to light some incense. ACHOO!
ACHOO! ACHOO! It
was
starting to be real test for her patience. *Well,
well, well... I
better
leave it for later,* she thought throwing the matchbox
on the table.
~Welcome to the club, Jakurin~ she answered. ~I'll
stay at home too.
I
don't think I feel like working, and I hope my boss
understands.~
(OOC: Jaku....before Lonely...^_^)
Michiru looked at her classmates. She looked to be
the only on in
pure
hell. ~Bite me~ she replied as she blew her nose.
Lucas sat back listening to the conversations.
~Sorry that you are
all
ill ladies. I can make some tea for you after school
if you want?~ he
offered, drumming a pencil on his desk with a sly grin
on his face.
Michiru looked back at Lucas with the look of death
on her face.
~Bite
me.~ she replied and went back to tnding to her nose.
Nephrite watched his class slump and stagger on
their laps around the
gym.
"What is wrong with you? Can't you run faster?" he
asked. One of the
girls sniffled and said. "Sorry, Coach, I caught the
flu the other day
and
can't shake it." she said sneezing.
~Well, any company's good. I'll even get Blake to
rent--- well...
hey!
How about free okos for everyone? You guys are all
sick anyway, right?
Just
show up and we'll veg or something!~ she sent down
through the line
before
taking off the comm. She peeked around the corner,
and saw a ruffled
mess
of blankets on the floor either the Dark B... Umino
was sleeping
underneath
it, or he had left early in the morning for something.
Padding back up
to
the restaurant, she detached the communicator and
placed it on the
counter.
Jakurin then sat away from her small crystal, and
quietly gave a
tearful
sigh. She missed Blake. Ever since their Silver
Millenium experience,
he
had almost avoided her, not even showing up for free
food.
And it hurt. It's not like she MEANT to push him
into military
Knight
service by taking his court job. Surely one wouldn't
hold a grudge
hundreds
of years later?
She suddenly perked up, hearing Ureshii weakly call
for a box of
tissues.
Glancing about, she picked up a metal napkin dispenser
and whistled up
to
her bedroom.
Down below the blankets, Umino finally stirred. He
had checked up on
the
hive by Dura's flower shop earlier, to avoid the
people. He didn't
want to
stay hidden from even Jakurin and Ureshii like this,
especially after
their
grand generosity.
But with this flu running around, odds were he'd get
the blame for
it.
He checked the jars of honey he got from his
"tenants" at the hive.
He'd present it for tea as soon as Jakurin came back
around.
Dura looked around the classroom. The student
turnout was pretty
sparse.
That flu was worse than she expected. She came in
late, and she didn't
catch much flak from the teachers. In fact, she was
impressed that
anyone
was holding down the fort.
~Guys?~ she magically sent. ~I'm getting the
lessons and assignments
for
everyone, so we can get a solid head start over the
rest of the
sickies.~
"Aaaah-CHOO!" Sho sneezed violently into his
handkerchief. Blowing
to clear his nostril, he looked. "Ewww," he
automatically said.
"What?" Yumiko asked, rolling over.
"Nothing," he said shortly. But too late: his wife
saw the red
stains.
"Blood? In the mucous?!" she said. "That is NOT
good! Get in bed,
Sho,
now!"
"I'm fine! I am NOT going to leave someone in a
wheelchair to do two
people's work!"
"There's gonna be TWO cripples in this shop in a
moment!" Yumiko
snarled.
"Bed! Before I run over your toes!"
Jennifer trudged into her first class carrying a box
of kleenexes as
she
sat down and said quietly, "Guess not everyone is
stupid and some
stayed
home."
Rikko sat up in bed. His communicator was on the
floor next to his
futon,
and he happened to turn over, laying his hand on it.
He picked it up
and
sent, ~I'm out of it too. Figures. I usually manage
to avoid this
kind of
stuff, but looks like it got me good this time. Dura,
can you get my
work
too?~ he asked. He put the crystal necklace around
his neck and got up
for
the day. He grabbed the half gallon of OJ and started
to chug. *Guess
this
stuff doesn't work that well after all.* he thought.
He sneezed
violently a
few times and then sat down at the edge of the bed.
He leaned back on
his
bed and said, "Looks like this is where I stay."
Dunican had been walking to school as he listened to
the chatter over
the
crystal communicators. ~Boy alot of you guys sound
bad.~ he thought.
~It's
going to be a small class if alot of you guys are not
coming in to
school,~
he sent. ~If anyone needs anything let me know and I
will get want ever
you
guys need. Hope you all feel better.~ he said to the
others.
Dura looked hard at Jennifer. "And what is THAT
supposed to mean,
pray
tell?" Then she saw the tissues and the runny nose.
"Oh, I'm sorry.
I got
a thermos of green tea we can split at lunch. Don't
worry about my
germs,
I've been perfectly healthy."
Dressed in a longcoat, Argocite surveyed the
cityscape as he walked
the
streets. "Great, just great." All these people sick
meant that life
energy
was running at an all time low. There was precious
little to leech
off.
Then he violently sneezed. *Black bells! I must've
gotten some flu
myself!
If I run into any Senshi, I won't be in any shape
to--*
Then a very dark idea came into his steadily
clogging head. Running
with
it, he teleported to the rooftop of a nearby hospital.
~Yeah, Lucas!~ sent Jakurin, applying a washcloth
to Ureshii's face
and
leaning back a bit on a stool. ~Can you do something
for me? I've
actually ran out of my favorite kind of tea. It's
called chai; very
easy to
get. I'll pay you back if you can pick me up a couple
of pints.~
Ureshii began to doze lightly as Jakurin threw
another blanket on
the
bottom of the bed. She'd probably have to set up a
cot; no way she'd
share
a bed in case she'd get the flu as well.
"Jak-CHOO!!"
Jakurin's eyebrow twitched as she surpressed the
giggle. A smile
grew on her face as she removed the washcloth and
headed for Tudo's
room.
"Coming, sir!"
As she ran the washcloth over, she noticed some
bees sail in. They
twisted and turned, and lightly formed an arrow
pointing downstairs to
her old bedroom... the one she'd loaned to Umino.
Patting Tudo lightly on the shoulder, she walked
past the bees
and gave them a short whistle.
Advancing down to the resteraunt, then down to
the basement, she
gleefully called, "Hey, Bug Boy, didja go out for
breakfast or
something? Or
did you catch... a bug, like everyone else?" she
chuckled, then gave a
slight yawn.
Lucas smiled at Jakurin's request. ~Not a problem.
I'll bring it by after I go home and pick it up. I
have a small supply of it stashed away for
emergencies.~ he replied.
Michiru looked over at Jennifer and sighed. "WEll,
some of us used up all of our sick days so we had one
of two choices. Skip and fail...or be miserable and
pass. And I'll tell you what...I graduate from this
hell hole in the spring and I'm not going to let a
little cold keep me away." she said. Her face was
deathly pale with red sploches all over. Her nose was
runny and red. And under her eyes were very heavy
black rings.
Coach Sanjouin looked at his class and wondered. ~I
wonder if we attack now, maybe the senshi have this
flu and will be weak. We can destory them in one
swoop.~ He sent to his fellow Dark Kingdom members.
"So you'd rather be dying here in school because you
decided to play
hookey
with your sick days?" Jennifer snapped back at her
fellow Senshi. "Real
mature of you, Michiru."
"You are not acting much better," Jeremy's voice
filtered through the
air
as he entered the classroom. He looked at Michiru's
face and shook his
head, "Although she has a valid point. You should be
at home in bed or
seeing a doctor, not suffering through classes."
He kept his face expressionless and his voice even
but he wondered
how she
could have even climbed out of bed that morning.
~I wish I could Jaku," Misa sent, ~but I can hardly
move, my whole body
aches! Unless you know a quick method to learn
teleportation or a way
to
travel by taxi without paying, I'm afraid I will stay
here.~
(OOC: Just placing Jeremy's post above Misa's! We're
good to go.)
(OO2: Lucas-chan, I didn't sign up/plan on playing
Zoi, but do you
need him
in here?? There's always Argocite as well.)
Argocite sent back an answer from the hospital
rooftop. ~I'm way ahead
of
you there, Nephrite my leige.~ Then he beckoned to
the homeless man
he'd
escorted and "befreinded." Slowly he twisted, let his
hair grow long,
and
his dirty clothes changed into a white lab coat and
funky jungle print
leotard pants. A headband with a mirror wrapped
around his noggin, and
a
bandolier with syringe needles slapped around his
chest.
"YayayayayayayaYOW!" he screamed. Then he broke into
rock and roll
song:
"I'm the one they call Dr. Feelbad!
I'm the one who makes you feel all wrong!
I'm the one they call Dr. Feelbad!
I'm a Dark Kingdom Frankenstein!"
Argocite nodded. ~One baited trap coming right up.~
"OK, guy, let's
go pay
those kids in the Children's ward a visit!"
Melvin folded his top arms and put his bottom hands on
his hips. "Har
har.
I stayed down here under the blankets all this time.
Tokyo doesn't
want to
see a bug flying around much to start with. They
definitely don't want
one
around bringing typhoid, malaria, or whatever! I'm
staying where it's
safe!" He presented the jars of honey. "Also hacked
some herbal teas
for
delivery over here on the
Web. And I told the flies and roaches in the dumpster
out back to
clean out
the germy stuff, and get lost. They'll stay away from
the public for
the
day until this flu blows over."
Michiru looked at Jennifer with a death stare. ~I'll
have you know every time I skipped was to save some
sorry person's hid from the Dark Kingdom. I'm not
going to let them take this from me!~ she sent. "Bite
me!" she said to Jennifer adn then went back to her
work. She wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead to
keep herself awake.
Lucas looked back at Michiru with a pitiful glance.
~Michiru, I'll cover for you, please get some rest.
If anything drastic happens then we will be one senshi
short. At least go see the school nurse, that way you
won't be counted absent.~ he suggested.
(OOC: Jurei, that's your call. If you want to play
him, he is more than welcome. I know that you are
trying to get away from playing him though.)
Jeremy watched as Jennifer sat back and shook his head and remained calm,
expressing no emotion as he spoke or acted. He reached and grabbed Michiru
by the shoulders and hefted the girl over his shoulder, "Rather you want to
or not you will see the school nurse."
The teacher and Jennifer both looked at him but neither did much save
watch as he headed for the door and the nurse's office.
(ooc--PA if you think I went too far let me know with that one and not
giving Michi a chance to dodge. I kinda figured she wouldn't be expecting
it and with her being sick I'm not sure how much resistance she could put
up.)
Jakurin collected the jars and rested them on her own hips. "A
tunneling bug," she quipped and listened to the rest of it. "Thanks, Umino.
Last thing we need is for the bugs to think it's a free-eats joint."
She yawned again, turning to go back upstairs and place the honey in
the refrigerators and said, "Hey, would you like an oko'? I'm making a few
in case I do get some guests... um... can you eat an okonomiyaki like that?"
she asked with an embarrasssed smile in the middle of the stairs.
"Sometimes I forget you can't go back..."
(OOC: No Zoi for me, thanks. I'm full. ^^;)

it, he teleported to the rooftop of a nearby hospital.
~Yeah, Lucas!~ sent Jakurin, applying a washcloth
to Ureshii's face
and
leaning back a bit on a stool. ~Can you do something
for me? I've
actually ran out of my favorite kind of tea. It's
called chai; very
easy to
get. I'll pay you back if you can pick me up a couple
of pints.~
Ureshii began to doze lightly as Jakurin threw
another blanket on
the
bottom of the bed. She'd probably have to set up a
cot; no way she'd
share
a bed in case she'd get the flu as well.
"Jak-CHOO!!"
Jakurin's eyebrow twitched as she surpressed the
giggle. A smile
grew on her face as she removed the washcloth and
headed for Tudo's
room.
"Coming, sir!"
As she ran the washcloth over, she noticed some
bees sail in. They
twisted and turned, and lightly formed an arrow
pointing downstairs to
her old bedroom... the one she'd loaned to Umino.
Patting Tudo lightly on the shoulder, she walked
past the bees
and gave them a short whistle.
Advancing down to the resteraunt, then down to
the basement, she
gleefully called, "Hey, Bug Boy, didja go out for
breakfast or
something? Or
did you catch... a bug, like everyone else?" she
chuckled, then gave a
slight yawn.
Lucas smiled at Jakurin's request. ~Not a problem.
I'll bring it by after I go home and pick it up. I
have a small supply of it stashed away for
emergencies.~ he replied.
Michiru looked over at Jennifer and sighed. "WEll,
some of us used up all of our sick days so we had one
of two choices. Skip and fail...or be miserable and
pass. And I'll tell you what...I graduate from this
hell hole in the spring and I'm not going to let a
little cold keep me away." she said. Her face was
deathly pale with red sploches all over. Her nose was
runny and red. And under her eyes were very heavy
black rings.
Coach Sanjouin looked at his class and wondered. ~I
wonder if we attack now, maybe the senshi have this
flu and will be weak. We can destory them in one
swoop.~ He sent to his fellow Dark Kingdom members.
"So you'd rather be dying here in school because you
decided to play
hookey
with your sick days?" Jennifer snapped back at her
fellow Senshi. "Real
mature of you, Michiru."
"You are not acting much better," Jeremy's voice
filtered through the
air
as he entered the classroom. He looked at Michiru's
face and shook his
head, "Although she has a valid point. You should be
at home in bed or
seeing a doctor, not suffering through classes."
He kept his face expressionless and his voice even
but he wondered
how she
could have even climbed out of bed that morning.
~I wish I could Jaku," Misa sent, ~but I can hardly
move, my whole body
aches! Unless you know a quick method to learn
teleportation or a way
to
travel by taxi without paying, I'm afraid I will stay
here.~
Argocite sent back an answer from the hospital
rooftop. ~I'm way ahead
of
you there, Nephrite my leige.~ Then he beckoned to
the homeless man
he'd
escorted and "befreinded." Slowly he twisted, let his
hair grow long,
and
his dirty clothes changed into a white lab coat and
funky jungle print
leotard pants. A headband with a mirror wrapped
around his noggin, and
a
bandolier with syringe needles slapped around his
chest.
"YayayayayayayaYOW!" he screamed. Then he broke into
rock and roll
song:
"I'm the one they call Dr. Feelbad!
I'm the one who makes you feel all wrong!
I'm the one they call Dr. Feelbad!
I'm a Dark Kingdom Frankenstein!"
Argocite nodded. ~One baited trap coming right up.~
"OK, guy, let's
go pay
those kids in the Children's ward a visit!"
Melvin folded his top arms and put his bottom hands on
his hips. "Har
har.
I stayed down here under the blankets all this time.
Tokyo doesn't
want to
see a bug flying around much to start with. They
definitely don't want
one
around bringing typhoid, malaria, or whatever! I'm
staying where it's
safe!" He presented the jars of honey. "Also hacked
some herbal teas
for
delivery over here on the
Web. And I told the flies and roaches in the dumpster
out back to
clean out
the germy stuff, and get lost. They'll stay away from
the public for
the
day until this flu blows over."
Michiru looked at Jennifer with a death stare. ~I'll
have you know every time I skipped was to save some
sorry person's hid from the Dark Kingdom. I'm not
going to let them take this from me!~ she sent. "Bite
me!" she said to Jennifer adn then went back to her
work. She wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead to
keep herself awake.
Lucas looked back at Michiru with a pitiful glance.
~Michiru, I'll cover for you, please get some rest.
If anything drastic happens then we will be one senshi
short. At least go see the school nurse, that way you
won't be counted absent.~ he suggested.
