Jeremy Satterlee stepped into the school building
in his navy blue school uniform.  He flexed his left
hand, covered by a skintight leather glove continued
forward, *This is the best way to find the Senshi.
They attended Juuban High School and therefore I can
find the Princesses quickly, although I have no idea
on how to recognize them if I find them.*  He quickly
made his way through the halls, ignoring the stares
and snide comments at his scarred face.

Minako watched as the new student flew by her
locker, pulling out the last of her books.  *Wow, that
must have been some accident...* she thought,
grimacing at his scarred face.  She shut her locker
and walked towards her homeroom, dreading the upcoming
day.

Ami closed her locker and hurried to her AP U.S.
History class without talking to anyone due to the
fact there was no one to talk to.  Clutching her books
to her chest she slid into her seat and waited for the
bell to ring.

Jeremy headed for his first class, keeping his mind
sharp and on task.  He stopped just as the tardy bell
rang and glanced over at a small gang standing down a
side hall; one of them was pinning a younger teenager
with goofy glasses to the wall.  Jeremy shook his head
at the actions and stepped down the hall, setting his
backpack down.  "I believe that is quite enough."

"What's it to you, freak?" the leader snapped. His
buddies all laughed with him and they tossed the geek
aside and started approaching Jeremy.  One gang member
pulled out a small pair of concealed nunchucks while
another pulled out a knife.  "Lets see if we can make
him look any more uglier, boss," one of the smaller
members said with a small laugh.

Jeremy kept his glaze steady and blinked his one
good eye, "I suggest you put up your weapons.  I don't
want to hurt you."  *Odds are five to one, but I've
got the training they don't.  They haven't trained for
over 1000 years to fight youma and nasty supernatural
creatures.*

"Look the Cyclops is scared.  He doesn't want to
hurt us," the leader said with a laugh.  "Get um
boys!"  Four of the gang members charged Jeremy,
weapons first.  The leader stayed back, watching and
waiting.

Jeremy sighed and leapt up landing behind the gang
members, his hands still in his pockets.  As they
turned he snapped his foot into the knife wielder's
gut and shook his head, his voice still even, "Quit
while you can."

The other three members stopped and stared for a
moment, unsure if they should go one.  The leader
stepped forward.  "What are you waiting for... get
him," he edged on.  The gang member with the nunchucks
went next, letting his weapon fly and his fist follow.

Jeremy stepped to the side and as the goon passed
by he brought his foot around in a firm roundhouse to
the back of his head.  He turned his gaze to their
leader and stared him straight in the eyes, "A true
leader will be the first to engage an opponent.  One
can't expect his men to do something if he himself
won't do it."

Minako watched the fight in awe from the doorway of
her homeroom.  There had been alot of fights in school
lately, but this new guy knew how to fight.  *It's
like he's trained for all of this...* she thought.
Minako squealed a little when the knuckle attacker
flew through her homeroom door just as she stepped out
of the way.

A strong voice was heard from behind. "All of
you... in my office... NOW!"  A stern looking man
stood behind Jeremy.  The gang broke up quickly and
headed down the halls, not wanting to get caught.

Jeremy glanced at the broken door and then pivoted
on his feet following the man calmly, *Oh well.*

The dean closed the door behind Jeremy and motioned
for him to have a seat.  "Young Man, we don't tolerate
that type of behavior in this school, but lately more
gangs have been popping up than the school can handle.
I would appreciate it if in the future you allow the
instructors to handle situations like that and go
about your business.  If all the students get the same
idea you did back there, we could have a riot on our
hands.  Is that clear?" he asked.

Jeremy glared at the man, his voice calm and even,
"Yeah it's clear, but it doesn't mean I'm going to
listen.  If one of the instructors had handled that
they'd have been skinned alive; unlike myself they
don't know how to fight."

The Dean shook his head. "Just stay out of the gym
instructor's way when something like that happens," he
said and pulled a file out from the draw and put it on
the table before Jeremy.  "Since you are new here,
this is the profiles of all the students that you
might want to steer clear of... or at least attempt to
stay away from." he said and put the file on the desk.

Jeremy glanced at the Dean, "I'm honestly surprised
that you'd turn this information over.  As for the gym
instructor, well something tells me he may want to
steer clear of me.  I assure you Dean that when I
fight, I have just cause."

The Dean nodded.  "There's not much the instructors
and I can do.  WE expel those who fight, and then more
join in the fight.  Its like something in the school
is making the students have this violent nature.  If I
expel any more students, we lose the funding for this
school and it will be closed down." he said and sighed
as he sat back in his seat.

Jeremy nodded, "That doesn't sound all that good.
Well, I don't know what you can do, but I do know that
people around here aren't going to like me that much."

The Dean looked up. "All I ask is that you not
provoke the fights, please." he said and pointed to
the door. "You better hurry before you're late for
class." he said.

Jeremy nodded towards the Dean as he walked out.
"Don't worry I won't."  He walked down the hall and
stepped into his class, already late from dealing with
the fight earlier.  He calmly took his seat and stared
at the blackboard, *Increase in violence.  That
doesn't sound right... could the Negaverse have
targeted this place already?*

Minako watched as the new guy walked into the class
silently.  The teacher didn't even seem to care, she
had bigger thoughts on her mind.  Minako examined
Jeremy for a couple seconds before looking back to her
notes, scribbling in some more information.

Coach Sanjoun blew his whistle and watched the
baseball team warm up with simple exercises.  *So much
energy* he thought and smiled to himself.  "Alright
team... lets see what you remember from yesterday
shall we?  I want you to break off into two teams and
show me what you got," he said.

Jeremy glanced out the window ignoring the history
lecture and watched the baseball team outside.  *Not
like I need this class.  It's all a cover, I've lived
most of it.*

Coach Sanjoun blew his whistle again. "No... you
should wait for the last possible moment to release
the ball so you can put more speed and energy into it.
Try again," he shouted and shook his head. *Such a
waste,* he thought.

Jeremy's eye narrowed on the baseball team.  *They
don't seem to be having much fun out there.* He sighed
as the bell rang and he glanced at his schedule.
*Gym... I can skip that.  Something didn't seem right
about the baseball field, unless I need to see if
maybe there's more of a reason for the recent rise in
violence.*

Minako quickly gathered up all of her school
supplies, being the first out the door.  She headed
towards her next class, Biology, after topping by her
locker and got all of her notes and books for that
class.  The bell rang and Ami gathered her stuff
heading for her next class.  She walked down the hall
solitary and looking back and forth at the students
who were laughing and thoroughly enjoying them selves
with their friends.  *I wish I had a friend or two.*
She sighed quietly and continued to walk until she
felt a yank on her hair and turned around to see a
gang of seniors following her and laughing.  "Could
you please keep your hands to yourself?" she asked
shyly, hearing their laughter and barbs from behind.

Jeremy sighed as the group pulled the young girl's
hair.  He stepped up his pace and shouldered his way,
confidently through them, "I don't find antics such as
your amusing."  He dropped into step beside the young
lady, asking in a calm, even voice, "Are you ok?"

Ami looked up and then looked away quickly meekly
stating, "Yeah I am fine.  I do not need you to fight
my battle though.  See ya around."  She hurried off
and sighed.

Jeremy shook his head, and turned towards the gym,
*First workout togs, then we check on the trouble.
This school uniform isn't ideal for fights.*

Coach Sanjoun blew his whistle.  "Alright... lets
hit the showers.  Good practice... I'm sure you will
all do fine against Ryo-Oka High tomorrow," he said.
The team gave a small cheer of encouragement and ran
off to the locker room.  Coach Sanjoun was left to
pick up the practice equipment.

Jeremy stood outside the school and watched the
coach, *Something is off, I just have to figure out
what.  Now from what I've discerned Jadeite is dead,
that leaves Beryl three Generals.  Which one fits into
this equation best?*

Coach Sanjoun paused for a moment after getting all
the bats in the bag.  He proceeded to count each one
of them, taping them lightly and placing the mark of
the Dark Kingdom on each one.  The mark flashed for a
second and then faded, making the bat normal again.
He put the bag over his shoulder and proceeded inside.

Jeremy caught a glimpse of flashing light, *Thought
so.  Definetly not normal.*  He let his hand drop by
his side and fell into a dark corner whispering,
"Imperium Power."  Black energy enveloped him leaving
a capped and cowled warrior in black standing there.
Slowly he drew a smooth black rose from his cape and
flung it towards one the bag of bats.  "I'm afraid you
will not be allowed to use those to further drain
energy."

Sanjoun looked up at the figure. "Excuse me?" he
asked and narrowed his eyes.  *I thought Jadeite got
rid of our adversaries,* he thought.

Guardian shook his head, his monotone voice
filtering out, "I'd wager that you're using the bats
to drain energy; not a wise move around here."

Sanjoun looked very confused at this point. *The
kid has got to go* he thought.  "I'm sorry son, but
you must have the wrong idea here.  The chess club
meets in the library on Wednesday afternoons," he said
standing up with he bats on his back.  "I'm just
cleaning up after my team.  We have a big game
tomorrow and I don't want them to overwork themselves.
Now if you'll excuse me," he said and headed towards
the locker rooms.

Guardian gritted his teeth, *Damnit. I couldn't
have been wrong, there's something wrong about those
bats.  Maybe he just doesn't know it yet.* "Just leave
the bats."

Sanjoun laughed. "Leave the bats? Why should I do
that... I'm perfectly capable of carrying them to the
storage room... unless..." he said and stopped.  *Come
on Nephy think of something.* he thought.  "You're
from the other team, aren't you.  You're here to
sabatoge my team's hard work and dedication.  You make
me ill," he said.  *Good cover!* he congratulated
himself.

Guardian shook his head, "No.  Now leave the bats."

Sanjoun looked dumbfounded for a moment.  *I have
got to continue to play dumb.  This guy is not going
to leave me alone,* he thought.  He smacked his head
and laughed.  "I get it, you're with the drama
department and you had to do an improv for class.  I
must say you had me fooled there for a little bit.
Good work," he said with a smile.

Guardian shook head, and spoke evenly, devoid of
emotion, "You'll never know.  Just be warned there are
those watching... always." With that he turned and
leapt on top of the school building, de-transforming
and slipping into the roof entrance. *Damn.  Played my
hand too soon.  Couldn't let him turn the situation to
a PR advantage for him.  I have more important things
to worry about though besides him, like the violence.
From the way the dean spoke it's getting worse every
day.*  He sighed softly and stepped into the empty
halls, realizing he was technically very truant for
his gym class, *Oh well.*

*the next day*

Sanjoun stood on the baseball field with his team,
offering encouragement from the sidelines. The other
team was starting to look sluggish, but his team was
fresh and eager to go.  *Excellent, my plan is working
perfectly,* he thought.

Minako yawned, turning back down to her history
homework.  She'd been dragged to the game by one of
her friends who had a crush on the pitcher.  So while
Mari drooled and swooned over him, Minako decided it
would be best to get some work done.  But she did
notice how Juuban's team seemed to have limitless
energy...

Jeremy stood silently beside the bleachers, his
single eye focused on the coach.  Slowly he flexed his
gloved hand; something was wrong with the whole
situation, he just couldn't tell what.

Coach Sanjoun ran out onto the field.  "What do you
mean out..he was safe," he argued with the umpire.
The argument lasted for a good five minutes and ended
with the Coach being thrown out of the game.  "You
can't throw me out... I'm the coach!" he cried.
"YOU'RE OUT! Hit the stands and you can watch the
rest of the game!" the umpire called.  Sanjoun went
into the dugout, told his pitcher what to do and left.
The entire crowd started booing the umpire, but then
the game resumed.

Jeremy watched as Sanjoun left the stands, his eye
trailing the ejected coach each and every step.

Sanjoun started writing up reports as the game
continued.  He would look up from time to time to see
how the team was doing. *Finally their energy is at
its peak!* he thought as he turned back to the book he
was taking notes from for next weeks quiz.  ~Youma
Batteriam, you know what to do,~ he sent
telepathically.  The bats on the baseball field jumped
to life and grabbed members of his baseball team.  He
looked up at the first yell and did his best to acted
surprised.  "What... Johnny... get away from that
thing!" he yelled with no avail.  The bat grabbed him
and started sucking away his energy.  *Perfect!* he
thought as he ran towards the gate, acting like he was
going to help.

Jeremy glanced at the field, ducking deep in the
shadows, whispering, "Imperium Power."  Seconds later
he was on the back of the stands as the Guardian and
shook his head.  He sighed before dropping to the
front of the perplexed crowd.  *I hate being right.*
He drew a single rose and hurled it at the bat.
"Playtime has ended youma."

Sanjoun stopped at the gate and looked at the
'hero'.  "Hey, kid from Drama, I don't think that's
such a good idea, you could get hurt.  I believe this
is the real thing, not something to go playing hero
for," he cautioned. *That kid can ruin everything* he
thought.

Guardian shook his head and leapt into the air
sailing onto the baseball field, hurling a single rose
at the youma as he did.

The youma turned and glared at Guardian.  It sent a
bombardment of baseballs at him.

Sanjoun stood and watched, not wanting to
interfere.

Jeremy hit the dirt as the balls flew over him and
started crawling on his belly towards the creature as
the ball collided behind him.

The creature stopped the ball barrage and formed
two bats with its arms and started swinging them
wildly at Jeremy, knowing he was still too far away to
actually hit him.

Jeremy pushed himself up using his hands sailing
into the air and drawing his katana from his side and
bringing it down, barely whispering lightly, "Imperium
Spirit Cut."  The blade glowed a faint blue as he
brought the weapon crashing down.

Sanjoun stood there silent. *This kid is really
getting on my nerves, but I won't play my wild card
just yet,* he thought as he watched the youma turn to
dust.

Jeremy sheathed his blade and glanced at the
stands, leaping away without so much a word.
