Players: Dunican and Minako

Soon an ambulance arrived and soon Dunican and
Minako were in the hospital.  Minako and Dunican were
separated from one another.  Dunican slowly opened his
eyes.  He looked around slowly.  The pain in his
shoulder was down to a roar now.  He looked at the IV
that was next to his bed.  "Minako..." he whispered
softly.  Dunican didn’t know that Minako was in the
next bed to his.

Minako's eyes fluttered open, glancing around.  She
was hooked up to several different machines, including
a respirator.  She ached all over, especially in her
side.  She closed her eyes again, too tired to keep
them opened.

Dunican looked over to the door and noticed some
female nurses standing at the door looking at him.
*Oh great. Not again," he thought.  He slowly started
to get up and one of them ran over and pushed him back
down.  "You mustn't get up.  You are still weak," she
said.

Minako's pulse began to quicken, setting off a
small alarm.  One of the doctors was instantly in the
room, checking all the vitals.  It was several minutes
before her pulse returned to normal, but no damage was
done.  The doctor glared accusingly at the young
nurses, shooing them out of the room.  "They need
their rest!  Don't disturb them again!" he scolded,
closing the door.  A small smile spread across
Minako's face, her eyelids twitching a bit.

Dunican looked over to where the doctor was
standing before.  His eyes brighten with life as he
saw Minako was in the bed next to his.  "Minako," he
said softly as he looked at her.

Minako opened her eyes, turning her head slightly
to see Dunican.  She tried to speak, but the effort
caused her great pain.  Wincing a bit, she just stared
at him, feeling extremely helpless and weak.

Knowing he was in great pain Dunican somehow
managed to get out of his bed.  It took him sometime
to get up but he finally got up.  Taking the IV pole
in hand had slowly walked over to Minako's bed.  He
finally made it and knelt down his knees and took
Minako by the hand and squeezed lightly.

Minako smiled to the best of her ability, grasping
his hand as if it were a lifeline.  There's so much
she wanted to say, to apologize for everything, to
promise it wouldn't happen again.  A tear slid down
her cheek, showing her frustration.  She took a deep
breath, trying her best to calm down.

"Shhhh. Don't speak my love.  You need your rest.
It wasn’t your fault for what happened," he said
softly and brushed the tears from her face.  "I will
be here for you until you get well.  We will leave
this hospital together," he said and slid a chair over
and sat down next to her bed, never letting go of her
hand.

Minako smiled, nodding slightly.  She slowly closed
her eyes, taking a deep breath.  She drifted off to
sleep, her mind finally put to ease.  All she wanted
to do now was rest.

Dunican smiled as he watched Minako drift off to
sleep.  To his word he wasn’t going to leave her side.
He laid his head on the bed and closed his eyes,
falling asleep soon after.
