Dunican finally got into a sitting position and looked over the surf again. *I don't think I will try that for awhile,* he said and looked around. "I wonder where Minako is?" he asked himself.
Running his nails across Kunzite's back gently, Zoisite's fingers traced the path of the muscles held captive under that dark tanned skin. Rubbing the oil in gently, he purred softly against Kunzite's ear, "So what is our beloved... Queen doing while we're on vacation?"
Riona smiled at Minako and watched her run off. She dragged three low beach chairs under one of the man made umbrellas that littered the beach. It was made of wood and large palm leaves. She put Minako's stuff on one chair, her cover-up and red tinted sunglasses on another and her towel on the third. She ran across the sand and into the water.
Riona dove under the splashing waves and came back up. She had forgotten how salt water tasted. *Blech!* Horrid, horrid taste. Her head came out of the water and her raven black hair was slicked back against her head.
"Hopefully something that doesn't need our attention. I'd hate to return home and find everything a wreck with her wailing about our incompetence," Kunzite replied with a sigh. "Maybe she'll take the hint and go on vacation too and let the youma have a party. That way, they'll be even more ready for work by the time we get back." He chuckled evilly at the thought of rousing hung over youma and forcing them through drills before drifting back into more pleasant thoughts. "But let's not talk about work, let's talk about... something else."
Darien shook his head and growled again. She wasn't going to get off that easily. He charged at her and swept her into his arms. "If I get wet," he said with a grin. "You get wet."
Michiru screamed in fright. She laughed as she kicked and screamed. "Mercy..mercy, please, gentle knight have mercy!" she cried with a laugh as they got closer to the water.
"Mmmmmm..." Zoisite replied as he stretched out alongside Kunzite, eyes half silted against the sun's rays that had managed to find their way to him. The thought of he and Kunzite getting to know each other was an enticing one, and much better than worrying about their annoying Queen. "There is a luau this evening at the Cultural Center and another at the Royal Hawaiian. If you've never been to Hawaii, a great many people like to see them at least once, especially the ceremonial ones. Or I could show you Diamond Head or the Pali. The winds off the Pali could throw a person off though. There's at least on hauli a year that goes off that thing either drunk or stupid." Zoisite paused, an impish grin spreading over his lips at the sight of the water. "Umm... Kunzite-sama? Can you surf?"
Darien laughed and shook his head. "There's no mercy for ya, wench," he said in his best bad pirate imitation. "It's the water for ya!"
Kunzite looked at Zoisite, a puzzled look on his face. "Surf? You mean riding the waves on a thin piece of wood? Not really."
Jeremy's body was relaxed as he moved through the water, the weight of his clothing didn't even bother him. Normally he'd be wearing jean pants and a heavy sweater along with some weights strapped to him, this swim in the ocean was most likely just a pleasure swim, the little workout it was giving.
Michiru laughed. "Darien, if you don't get me wet I promise to give you a big surprise later tonight..our room has a hot tub please just not the salt water!" she cried laughing.
Zoisite grinned at Kunzite in that all too wheedling manner. "I think you'd look so handsome out there conquering the waves. I hear it's a great way to get a tan, Kunzite-sama," he purred softly. Actually, he just wanted to see Kunzite unable to do something for once. The ice king was entirely too good at too many things. Perhaps surfing was something that he wouldn't be.
Darien smiled and slowly let her slip free, claiming a kiss from her lips as he did so. "You only had to ask," he whispered.
Kunzite gave the water a dark look. "No thank you. I'd rather bake the old fashioned way."
Zoisite stuck out his tongue at the ice king, a wheedling pout overtaking his features. Emerald eyes gazed back at Kunzite, the stereotypical puppy dog eyed expression. "But Kuuunnzzzyyy... you'd be so handsome conquering the seas..."
Kunzite's face took on the expression of a lost and injured child, his lower lip trembling and his eyes growing wide. "I-I-d- don't think so," he stuttered, then looked quickly to the ground. "I really don't want to go out there, is there something else I can do?"
Zoisite giggled softly as he patted Kunzite's head softly. The ice king had managed to talk him out of it on this one. "There, there, Kunzy. Mean old Zoisite won't make you go out and face the ocean if you're afraid. It might mess up that wonderful hair," he murmured, twisting a lock of it gently through his fingertips. The sakura was convinced that it was all an act on Kunzite's part. How could the greatest of them all be afraid of a little thing like water?
"It isn't the water," Kunzite murmured, unknowingly echoing Zoisite's thoughts. "It's the stuff underneath it, especially them." He shuddered and looked up, a hesitant smile spreading across his face. "Don't worry, I'll make it up to you. Just tell me what you want, I'm all yours." ~Go ahead, make a suggestion, Neko-chan. But no slave collar.~
Michiru made a face and giggled. "But now my feet are wet," she said, pressing against him. "And I don't want to track sand all over my blanket."
Darien sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes before picking her up and carrying her back to their blanket. "Anything else, mi lady?"
Zoisite snapped his fingers with a sigh of regret, as if the collar were the one thing that he really wanted. A brow arched at Kunzite's words as the koneko went back to working his fingertips gently across the tanned skin beneath them. "Them? Who are them?" Leaning down to press a kiss to one of Kunzite's shoulders, he purred softly at the tropical scented suntan oil spread across him. For some reason, he's always enjoyed the scent, even if he avoided the sunlight himself with a near religious adversion. Lifting his eyes to the water, he took in the other beach goers, a twinge of despair touching him at letting all this valuable energy go to waste.
"Octopuses. I really don't like to get into any water they've been in," Kunzite replied, shuddering slightly at the feel of Zoisite's lips against his skin. "Slimy, ugly, rubbery things." He turned slightly, a hand raised to twine into the red and gold locks falling over his skin. He tugged his face close, turning slightly to kiss him, sharp teeth nipping at his lips before deeping the kiss. ~Is there anything you want to do? There is a whole beach here full of opportunity for people like us.~
Zoisite stared at Kunzite and briefly considered telling the ice king that not only did he enjoy eating octopus, but squid as well. After hearing his declaration on not going anywhere those critters had been, he quickly decided against it. The sakura did want to be kissed sometime afterwards. As wish was made real by Kunzite's lips and teeth meeting his own, a shiver of delight and a purr of desire escaped him. Running his nails thoughtfully across the other man's chest, he glanced over those on the beach and water. Giggling softly, he whispered, "Ever see 'Jaws'? How about a huge youma white shark that eats people? It will clear the beach if nothing else, and what are the chances of the Senshi being here to stop us?"
"Hmmmm," Kunzite murmured softly, clasping one of his free hands with his own and looking over the beach. "Why not? A beach all to ourselves sounds like a lovely prospect." Closing his eyes, he sent his energy out, probing the water till he found what he seeked. Dark energy wrapped a cocoon around the small tiger shark as it struggled weakly against the power before it seeped into ever fiber. The thing that emerged was vaguely shark-shaped and had a shark's hunger, but it's monstrous size and intelligence belonged to the Dark Kingdom. "There," he said, sighing and giving Zoisite's hand a squeeze. "We should have some fun soon."
Zoisite glanced up at the creature, rather impressed by that trick alone. All he could manage were little youma that looked vaguely like himself and weren't all that powerful. He was jealous in a manner, but it was his Kunzite-sama, adored above all. Cuddling against his side, even if he would leave an untanned spot, Zoisite cooed, "Excellent work, my love. Hopefully it will eat a few of these annoying mortals as well."
Kunzite chuckled and gave Zoisite a light kiss on the forehead. "We can only wish," he said. "I'm glad you like it. It's so hard to work in these conditions." The youma swam towards the shoreline, a dark shape cutting through the water. The water exploded as it jumped up and snag a swimmer in its hands. A flash of its tail, and youma and swimmer was gone, only a thin, half-sounded scream carrying over the water marked the person being there. On shore, people looked up from their amusements, and stared at the water. Then the youma appeared again, standing on the surface of the water and shirking towards the sky.
Michiru smiled at Darien and leaned in for a kiss when a terrible shriek interrupted there kiss. "What was that?" she asked looking away from Darien towards the scream.
As soon as the scream made contact with his ears Jeremy was under the water, pushing full strength as he saw the swimmer's body below the waves, already maimed beyond recognition. He clenched his gloved fist as he mouthed his transformation phrase under the water and felt the energy course over him, transforming him. With that he drew a rose and pushed upward, coming up beneath the creature and using the youma's own legs to push himself up into the sky and let his blue rose fly.
Darien looked up, his eyes widening as he saw the creature standing on the waves like it owned the whole ocean. He gasped as someone surfaced, threw something that caused it to shirk then disappeared again. "Looks like a battle of some kind, " he said, one hand digging through their beach bag for his camera. "I've got to get some pictures of this."
The youma shook its head then snapped its huge jaw at Guardian before back flipping into the water again. It swam to the bottom and then let a piticular cry. The ocean water's turned dark.
*A youma attack, in Hawaii? What is this world coming to? And why on my vacation?* Michiru thought with a sigh. She watched Darien dive for his camera and saw it as her chance to get away. She quickly ran towards the water and dove into its darkness. *Peace Keeper Power! Make Up!* she thought and allowed the sequence to take place under the water. After completion the waves parted for her to come out. "Peace Keeper Blast!" she cried, sending her small golden ball at the youma.
"Is it dead already?" Zoisite asked in a disappointed tone. Cuddling against Kunzite, he was content to just watch. "Is that all it does?"
"Not really," Kunzite replied, turning slightly to give him a quick kiss. "It should have some surprises up it's sleeves. I'm just wondering how all the Senshi got here so fast."
Peacekeeper's energy ball smacked into the water then formed its cage.. around a puzzled looking dolphin. Other water animals were crowding closer to the beach, most of them sharp-tooth sharks, snapping at everything around them. The youma resurfaced again, turning to face it's army, clinking out orders from it's misshapen jaw.
Guardian moved quickly, and with practiced ease as he pushed himself through the water, the youma's teeth having barely grazed his arm. He drew his blade as he maneuvered through the water towards the youma, avoiding the sea animals as best he could, *Take down the youma, end the threat.*
Peacekeeper look at the dolphin. "Oh no.." she cried and dispelled the cage quickly. "How are we going to get rid of this thing?" she asked the Guardian. "Some help would be nice."
Guardian kept his calm monotone as he avoided yet another of the innocent creatures, "Penetrate it's natural defense wave and then eradicate the core of the problem. Simple as that, although as you would typically quip, easier said than done."
Kunzite sighed and shook his head. "I didn't know that the Senshi could have come after us so quickly," he muttered darkly. Absentmindedly running his fingers through Zoisite's hair, he sighed heavily. "Almost make me wish.."
The youma snaked under the water, the sea creatures following it. Scrapping against the silt bottom it rose upwards heading straight for the form struggling through the mass of wild life. Snapping its jaws, it slipped to the side as its followers headed straight for Guardian. The youma dove again.
"Look Out!" Michiru cried and summoned another cage in her hands. "PeaceKepper Blast!" she cried. She just hoped her aim was better this time to save Guardian.
"Makes you wish what, love?" Zoisite asked as he turned away from the youma that was doing its best 'Jaws' impression. Stretching out on his back to stare up at Kunzite, the sakura leaned forward and nipped at his lover's shoulder. Licking away the droplet of blood that sprang up to marr the tan surface of the ice king's flesh, he purred softly.
Kunzite looked down, his eyes wide and startled before a soft grin spread across his face. "That there wasn't a Dark Kingdom and that the Senshi didn't exist," he said sheepishly and shrugged. "It's just one of those things I think about when I take a few days of R & R." He kissed Zoisite lightly on the nose. "That hurt, Neko-chan."
Sailor Earth Garden ran down the beach. "What the...this was suppose to be a relaxing vacation!" She cried at the sight of attacks. "Vine Entangle!" she cried sending vines towards the youma.
Zoisite yawned, giving Kunzite a seductive smile. "Well, why don't you let them kill the silly youma and we can go... enjoy ourselves? We can pretend for a time that there's no Beryl-hime or Senshi. You could work on that tan..." Examining the place where he bit his lover, Zoisite could only blink in surprise. "I... I didn't mean to, Kunzite-sama. It just came over me."
Kunzite smiled slowly, looking at Zoisite through his eyelashes, the quicksilver eyes gleaming with desire. "I don't mind," he replied in a throaty purr. "In fact-" he looked at the fight and shrugged his shoulders "-I'll tell you all about it after we blow this pop stand." He stood up and gathered his stuff together. "Shall we?"
The youma shirked as it became so entangled it couldn't move. "Kill it, kill it, kill it!" Sailorpeacekeeper cried.
Guardian had moved and he glanced behind him at the creature entangled and felt the pounding of the various sea creatures. He took his blade in one hand and whispered, "Spirit Cut," and let the sword soar through the air towards the youma's heart all the while thinking, *Only one shot.*
At the purr in Kunzite's voice, Zoisite would have followed him to the ends of the Earth. Sliding his arms about the other man, he laid his head on the ice king's chest. "I agree... we have all of Hawaii to explore." Running his tongue along the edges of his teeth, the sakura paused at the sharpened tips of the incisors. Just like Kunzite's... Simply accepting it for now, he wrapped a arm about the other's waist, leaving the Senshi to fight their creation.
Kunzite's fingers trailed through the crimson and gold locks brushing against his skin and smiled. If anyone had seen that smile, had seen that soft smile, they would have never believed that this was the same man who killed servants for ironing wrinkles in his cape. "Then let's get out of here," he replied and tugging gently, led them away from the battle on the beach, beach blanket and duffel bag in one hand, the other wrapped around Zoisite's waist.
Resting his head against Kunzite's shoulder, it mattered little to Zoisite that they had lost. They had sent a message to the Senshi... that it didn't matter where in the world they fled to, those of the Dark Kingdom would find them. There would be no perfect or peaceful life as long as they continued this fight. Nothing was simple or easy anymore. The storm was coming...
