Gun Smith Cats
Chapter 1
Story
I like the story of this miniseries. One of the most original animes I have seen for a long time. It isn’t too often that the setting is in Illinois either. Relationships between characters are so much fun to watch as they interact. It is realistic to me because when I lived in San Diego I had friends that we always talked similar to them. The sarcasm and those qualities aren’t found a lot, and was great to see by me. The story is interesting, though it isn’t horribly complex either. At least it doesn’t seem like it from the first chapter, but I think it will get even better in the second one. It is also easy to watch, you don’t have to strain your brain to figure out what is going on and like I said before it is a fun anime to watch.
Animation
The animation is awesome. It was skillfully done, and it really shows in the gun fighting scenes. Only in Ghost in the shell have I seen better drawn animated guns, and vehicles. So, it gets a very high rating from me in this department.
Sound
The sound, and voices were awesome. The different voices actors and voice actresses worked very well together. I love especially the voices for May, Rally, and Becky. They are too funny. The way they joke around with each other, and get on each others nerves is great too. The actors and actresses put emotion and feeling into the voices as well. Which even for some of the best-dubbed animation, the voices lack a lot of the times.
Adult content
There wasn't in it anything I was expecting. I thought for sure a couple sex scenes with May was inevitable, and also I would have expected more graphic violence. Since I have read the first two manga for Gunsmith Cats I know what it could have been capable of. However, the only adult content I found was two scenes with Rally in her underwear. Also a dream May was having gives you the impression that she was doing something adult. As forpeople getting shot and some good gun fight scenes, were made rather funny with May dropping a dozen or so homemade grenades, which never killed, just made the guy guys crispy on the outside. There was also a little bit of vulgar language, which I almost forgot to put down because I am so used to hearing it. It isn’t much though.
Overall
I would have to say this is one of my favorite animes. It is fun to watch, and really lighthearted most of the time; which I definitely need sometimes. If you are bothered by panty shots and a little swearing don’t watch it. Don’t set yourself up to where you will sin. Also, if you have more an innocent mind, like simlpe to evil, do try to keep yourself that way. Sometimes I wish I didn't know as much as I do, but because I do, I am able to do this, to warn those of you so you won’t end up with a mind like I have. Thankfully the Lord is the great redeemer.
