HIRAGANA LESSON NINE

In this lesson you will learn the Hiragana form of the sounds YA, YU, YO, WA, (W)O, N. To see the stroke order, all you need to do is hover your mouse over the graphic of the character shown on the page. To hear how to pronounce the characters, click your mouse on any picture of the character group.

Be careful with the character WA, do not get it confused with RE or NE, they all look similar.

The (w)o character, pronounced O, not WO, is used only as a grammatical particle in the language usually
