I would like our future city to be Tourist attraction from other parts of the world. I'm an avid traveller,we should be proud our town Taiping . We need to beautify LAKEGARDEN & MAXWELL HILL (need to improve with new technology)Good chalet or motels )there will be more income for local people, more jobs for the coming generations. firstly, Airport (upgrade) secondly, Hotels(4or 5 star standard)(in front of Lake Garden)similar to Niagara Falls NY/Canada.thirdly, shopping paradise to attract more tourist (Dubai or Jeddah) quality but reasonable price. fourthly, Maxwell Hill to upgrade like Switzerland Holiday chalet/resort. fithly, public transport for tourist e.g trishaw(Malacca) good taxis (K.L standard) Hospitals - Private Taiping Specialist Centre We need to improve our town for tourist attraction like Malacca Town, I assure Taiping will be better & the best in Malaysia or among Asian countries God's will(InsyaAllah) Sorry for my english

We need to protect what we have environmentally and this includes keeping Maxwell Hills as a natural hill resort. Each time when I return to my hometown for a visit, I always enjoy the ride or hike up the hills. It would be a shame to spoil it with "pollution" of all kinds like casino, hotel etc. What should be done is improvement and maintenance on the present facilities like better heating for the rooms, hot water for showers, cleaner toilets, more flowers from temperate countries, better telescopes and other user friendly services. Providence of barbecue sites and barbecue food packs etc. could also bring additional income for the management. There must be people in Taiping who could provide ideas to improve the resort but still keeping it natural. Why not send out an advertisement to all the secondary schools and ask for a competition in ideas for example? OR why not put an advertisement in the newspaper for ideas? Like all others before me, I hope Taiping people will not allow Maxwell Hills to be desecrated in the name of money- making or modern development.

I wish and wish Taiping would always be the same old town that I remember.........that's what makes Taiping so unique!!! And also may Bukit Larut never change for the sake of "progress" but left as it is for our future generations to enjoy.

Taiping is one of Malaysia's most beautiful and UNSPOILT provincial towns. Never should development encroach on the natural open spaces, the wide streets and easy access to everything. Maxwell Hill, the Lake Gardens, Zoo and magnificent old colonial buildings should always be preserved. Environment friendly development is called for. For example why not develop the worlds best orchid gardens, a the Worlds best Bird of Paradise or Butterfly aviaries at the Zoo. And as for industry concentrate on intellectual development. Taiping could be a top class centre for computer software development. Develop the schools and libraries. Taiping should really be classed as one of the world's most liveable cities.
By the way my wife is from Taiping and I'm from Melbourne, Australia but always enjoy coming back to unwind and recharge the batteries.
