UBUDIAH MOSQUE |
![]() |
KUALA KANGSAR |
By now you would have realised that this beautiful mosque is not in Taiping but in Kuala Kangsar, some 20 miles south. My apologies for this inclusion but this historic (early 1900) and picturesque mosque has impressed many visitors from near and far. Situated in Bukit Chandan in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar and of course close to the Sultan's magnificent palace, this is where the Perak Royalty have worshipped for decades. See this link The Taiping mosques are below :-) |

The last time I visited the Ubudiah Mosque was way back in 1988 and after seeing your pics I think it's time for me to make another visit. I agree with you it is a beautiful mosque and the most beautiful in the country. Thanks for pics. james

I used to be working in Kuala Kangsar in the late sixties and used to visit the Istana very often. The mosque then did not look as in your pictures. There surely is a dramatic change. If and when I visit Malaysia again I will make a point to visit KK.
