2.
Best book adaptation since Out of Sight at least. It's more rewarding with every viewing and what Woody Allen's films used to be.
3.
Superb script, superb animation, superb voice acting, what more could you ask for? Best animated film since Toy Story if not better.
4.
Somewhat overlong and not as good as Out of Sight but Soderbergh proves he can do true stories and proves to be one of my favorite directors of recent years. Julia Roberts' best film.
5.
Fantastic screenplay and Oscar-worthy performances by Zellweger and Freeman (her best role ever, his best role in over a decade), perfect casting of Kinnear as well.
6.
Most charming film of the year, great script... "almost perfect."
7.
Hitchcock lives... endings seem to be a problem with many films this year, especially this one. However this film is more than just the ending unlike other films I could mention.
8.
No Waiting for Guffman or This is Spinal Tap... but what is? Still a truly hilarious film especially when you take under consideration that it was improvised.
9.
Great script, great performances (Douglas and Maguire especially), too bad it's kind of forgettable.
10.
What if Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker worked at Disney? Now we know. Another great voice cast and I wonder how much was improvised here as well.
...for being the best Jackie Chan film ever released in the U.S. with some of the best action sequences ever filmed...
...for taking some of the same sort of material in The Klumps and doing it a lot better -- most of the time, though Murphy has a better grasp of his talent than Carrey here... and whether they meant to or not, making a better parody out of Fight Club than Fight Club, even down to the ending (yeah, I know the script was written years ago but it's uncanny, take out the anti-corporate stuff and it's almost the same movie with the same message)...
...the most beautiful 10 or 15 minutes of animation of the year, yes, better than Fantasia and Dinosaur and some really inventive sci-fi to boot... too bad about the plot...
...despite Magneto's lame "evil plan," it's the best comic book movie actually based on a comic book in many a moon with some of the best actors ever to do a comic book movie and that's worthy of mention... Bryan Singer is to be applauded, after seeing interviews on the DVD he did exactly what he set out to do and did it well...
