Before I tell you how to play this game, you must take this oath: I, (yourname), will promise to follow the rules exactly as stated here. So, I will read the rules carefully! It's similar to the card game "crazy 8's". You follow suit or the number. Direction of play is clockwise. The game works best with 6-8 people. It's works even better if the people are Frienatics. It's a really fun game to play at night when you go camping. You can play with 2-3 decks. The more cards the better. When teaching the game to newcomers, you should not tell the rules until that specific card is played. That way, when they play that card, you can make a buzzer sound and say something like "failure to say the correct phrase" and give them another card. After dealing six cards to each player, the dealer flips one card over. Then the dealer says "The game of Friends has now begun, It's start with me 'cause I'm No. 1." Then the dealer gets to play a card. It must be of the same suit or the same number as the card that was flipped over. Here are the sayings and actions for each card played: Ace: Say "Read 'em and weep"; Then the player next to you says "And then he did." 2: Say "We were on a break." The number is a wild card. However, unlike, crazy 8's, you don't get choose the suit. The suit is the same as the one on the card. 3: The player next to you has to pick up three cards. The player next to that person has to say "Oh my God!" If the next player now puts a three, the other has to pick up 6 cards. That's the maximum. If another player now plays a 3, the player only has to pick up six. 4: Do the slapping of the wrists to the person next to you. Then, the player next to him/her wraps their hands around their neck and flaps their arms 3 times. 5: Nothing 6: Name the first name of all six friends 7: Say "I am Bea"; The player next to you says "I drink tea"; The player next to that person says "Won't you dance around with me." 8: Say "Smelly cat, smelly cat, it's not your fault" 9: Say "Happy birthday, Rachel. Here's some goo." 10: Say "Gunther." The player next to you in the direction opposite to the direction of play has to say "You idiot" and pick up a card. The play resumes in the same direction of play. Now, let's the next person plays a 10, the same phrases and actions had to be done except that the person picks up 2 cards. J: Changes the direction of play. Q: Say "Ugly Naked Guy" K: Say "How you doing?" Note: If more than one card is played, you must do the action or the saying the same number of times as cards played. Everytime, someone says the wrong phrase or does the incorrect action, they have to pick up a card. Other Special Rules If you can't play a card, say "Heckles" and pick up a card. If you're down to your last card, say "I'm always the last to know." After you play the last card, say "Holland loves Chandler, Thank you Amsterdam. Goodnight!" and you win.
