He is more known for his serious roles, like his Dr Aaron Shutt in Chicago Hope. Not surprisingly, the serious-looking actor is hardly attracted to horror movies. Why, he saw the original Halloween movie only after he knew he got the role as Jamie Lee Curtis' romantic interest in sequel Halloween H20. "I am not a fan of any genre of movie. I go to see a movie when it is well made, when it has good people in it," Adam Arkin told The New Paper. So, what made him take up the offer, his first horror movie? Good script. Good director. Great co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, he said. "I decided to do it because I thought it was a really good script. It was one of those situations in which I was offered something and it immediately got my attention." Arkin was the sociopathic chef in the series, Northern Exposure, which he also directed. The series earned him an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He has also appeared in several mini-series and television movies, including A Year In the Life and In the Line of Duty: Hunt for Justice. Arkin has also made guest appearances in popular television drama series such as LA Law and Law and Order. So, what is the scariest movie he has seen? "The movies that scared me when I was younger, there were two or three of them. American Werewolf in London was one. I think that was the first horror movie I ever saw. And it made a big impression on me," he said. Then, there was Seconds, a 1966 movie starring Rock Hudson about a bored middle-aged man who gets a call from a supposedly dead friend out-of-the-blue. "A lot of people don't know about this one. It scared me to death. It's a terrifying movie. I really recommend it to anybody who hasn't seen it," Arkin said. Any one man enough?
