The storm breaks and Niamh is caught out in the fields with Sean.He tries to read into thei relationship and Niamh takes off, not before unwittingly alerting the whole village to the fact that something may be going on. Meanwhile, things between her and Ambrose are going from bad to worse. Ambrose has finally realised that something is very wrong and needs fixing. But, when he tries to talk to her she clams up. Siobhan tries - she realises that Niamh misses Assumpta (wow, first mention in 11 episodes!) but she offers a friendly ear. Niamh refuses, saying that she can't talk because everything is mixed up in her head and needs sorting out first. Siobhan agrees but tells Niamh that she needs to talk to Ambrose. Finally, she tries to explain to him - Sean Dillon paid her a bit of attention and she was flattered. Ambrose realises that he is losing her. She sees him as nobody and he goes to see Sean who tells him that nothing has happened between himself and Niamh.

Sean's house is badly dmamged in the storm. Emma tells him that she is glad she has a place at art college and, during a row she says that she can't wait to leave. He agrees that he is glad she is going. He regrets this remark and apologises but not before he has made a decision. It is time he left BallyK and went back to England. He feels he has outstayed his welcome and he holds a party as a farewell. Everyone turns up and makes it clear that they don't want him to go. It looks as if he will stay and everyone is happy.

Niamh turns up and she and Sean make up after their fall-out. They start to dance, not knowing that Ambrose has turned up also and is watching them. He turns and walks off on his own . . .
