The new priest in BallyK, Fr Aidan is starting to make his mark on the village. He appears to 'heal' a bed-ridden woman that Kathleen visits regularly. Kathleen, of course, has been waiting in the wings for a bona fide miracle since Fr Clifford left and she wastes no time in running to Fr Mac with the news. He. however is sceptical and advises her to keep it to herself (?!!).

Fr Aidan discovers that the 'sick' woman, is in fact perfectly well and has been trying to con an insurance company out of compensation for her fall. He persuades her to call it all off, but he is still out of favour with Fr Mac.

Meanwhile, Brian has big ideas for Fitzgerald's. He thinks that turning it into a theme pub will make more money out of the tourists and turns it into 'The Aul' Bog Tavern' (!) against Niamh's wishes. She. of course, doesn't want it changed and walks out, leaving him to run it himself. He can't cope and eventually gives in to Niamh, turning it back into Fitzgerald's.

Meanwhile, the other new man in town, Sean Dillon, is making enemies of Eamonn by callling Siobhan out to save a fox that Eamonn has been trying to get rid of. Siobhan has other things on her mind than their feud - Brendan has asked her to marry him, and she has said no . . . . .
