This fan fiction is two additional scenes to "The Reckoning". The first one is an addition to the Lake scene, it picks up right where the original left off. The second takes place right after that but before the bus scene.
ADDITION TO LAKE SCENE
After a couple of minutes of enjoying the feel of their first non-inhibited
embrace, Assumpta suddenly brakes away from the hug and takes Peter's
hand. She smiles at him sheepishly and says "Follow me."
They walk hand-in-hand for a few minutes while Assumpta is looking around for
something. She finally finds what she was looking for, a beautiful shady
tree. She stops walking when they get to the tree that she had spotted
"Peter, lay down against that tree."
Peter is a little reluctant but he does it anyway. When he gets himself situated,
Assumpta lays down next to him with her head on his chest and her arms
around him "Now, close your eyes and try to get some sleep."
Peter laughs somewhat nervously not understanding and waits only a second before
asking "Why?"
Assumpta in reply says "You said that you would like some sleep and that you
haven't been sleeping because your thoughts of me keep you awake. I
thought maybe you would sleep better with me here, beside you, in your
arms" she paused, "and I promise that I won't keep you awake." She looks
up at him and smiles with mischief in her eyes. He smiles back at her. She
grows serious for a minute "If it helps you sleep better, I want you to
know that if this is what you want," she looks deep into his eyes "I'm
yours." She snuggles back into his arms and at last is very happy.
Peter smiles again and closes his eyes. As he is trying to fall asleep he is thinking
how happy he is that he can finally be like this with the woman that he
loves, even if at the moment it can only be when they are alone together.
They lay like that for a few minutes when Peter says "Assumpta?"
"Yeah"
"What are you thinking?"
Assumpta smiles very warmly and says, "That I love being in your arms."
"I love having you in my arms, and being able to enjoy it; finally!"
They both close their eyes and fall asleep.
MISSING SCENE
Peter sleeps for a couple of hours and wakes before Assumpta. He looks at her
sleeping and thinks how beautiful she is.
Assumpta wakes up very shortly after Peter does. She looks up sleepily into his
eyes and smiles "Did you get much sleep?"
"Yeah, a couple hours or so."
"Good, do you feel better?"
"Yes, I feel wonderful; and very, very happy." He kisses her on the head.
Assumpta gets up and says "Well, I guess we better be getting back, the gossips will
have a lot to talk about if one of us is not seen shortly." She helps him up
and they start walking to the bus.
