METHOD OF RECRUITMENT: It is unknown how she actually came to be a part of Section One and then Section 13. She is a "wildcard" operative meaning she is more or less a "freelancer."

MADELINE'S PSYCH. PROFILE: Layla is a special operative. She is not technically a Section operative. Layla is more than meets the eye. She is part of an experimental department of Oversight. Section M-L12 is a unit which specializes in gene coding. It is unknown in what capacity Layla is serving at Oversight. Layla has "special" abilities. She is what scientists refer to as an "assimilator" mutant otherwise known as a "phoenix" mutant. She has the ability to collect the abilities of other mutants. Most of the mutants which are found hidden in society are human-modified. Even though her background is hazy and unpieceable, there is a great possiblity that her mutant abilities are congenital. It is unknown how many mutant abilities she has, but there are a few abilities which she is positively known to have. She is known to have at least abilities from each of the categories: Feral, Elemental, Molecular, and Psionic. Within these categories, she is known to be able to project illusory visuals, predict certain future events, and move objects. She is also known to have the ability to bend light and small chunks of time along with the ability to effect electrical currents.
Her name which she gave Section is "Layla" which in Arabic means "Born at night." It is uncertain if this has any relevance to her abilities and where they originated. She was given the Codename "Asima Asra" which in Arabic means "Protector who travels in the night." Although both names were probably not her given names, it is unknown where they originated from. The names are Arabic in origin, but her true nationality is unknown. She is definitely part if not mostly Asian, the country of origin is also unknown.

• STRENGTH: Emotionally Strong/Excellent in Combat and Leadership. She has a special ability to read people's thoughts, and she can project her thoughts into other people's minds. She has kept this from Section as long as she can, but recently on a Mission was forced to use her abilities to complete the mission. She can take a great deal of pain and challenges and on each occasion has proved more than adequate to handle them. She understands human compassion, but she has a low tolerance for weakness. She understands that sometimes to get a job done, you must have no remorse. She mourns in private, but displays none of her emotions outwardly.
  
• WEAKNESS: She cannot handle authority - She likes to be independant. Many times, her emotions and feelings cannot be deciphered. She keeps to herself, yet everyone who knows her enjoys her company. Fast on her feet, quick with a joke, and a bit too sarcastic, she sometimes is too unpredictable for her superiors to understand. She has learned to control her thoughts even her eyes so she is virtually untouchable. She has the ability to read thoughts, so many of the CLASSIFIED material has come to her attention.
