Hi Everyone!!

I called Mark Chapman's agent on Monday. I now have had time to reflect on the situation and can give you a report. Since I didn't report to all of your right away, you can tell it wasn't a good phone conversation.

When I called a week ago last Friday, I spoke to someone who seemed to be VERY helpful. She said she would rather have Mr. Chapman call me himself, but she would also get back to me with an address to send the fan club booklet since there was a LOT of info on him and she felt he should have 'some' say in what the content was. I fully agree with that. Needless to say, a week went by with no phone call and no other type of contact.

I was home on Monday because I injured myself the past week and had to go to the doctor that day. I figured since I was home from work I would put the time to good use. I called the agency about 11am California time and this time got a man. He was VERY unpleasant, telling me that "everything we get is forwarded and its up the individual to answer or not."

He ALMOST blew me off, until I mentioned several names (Boris Malden, Robert Winford and Tom Greene - but most importantly he really took notice of Steven Sears). Then this guy seemed to calm down some. I also told him the advertising had gone out, I am a full time paralegal (so he would know I'm not a kook) and I do this project AFTER I get home from work. I told him the woman I spoke to last Friday was going to get me another address, one with a P.O. Box and no one got back to me and thats why I was calling again.

He said he understood, but that he had to protect the privacy of his clients. I told him I felt exactly the same way, and that I feel a little 'open' because of this fan club since people will know MY address and phone number. At this comment, he then said "why don't you do this. Send the booklet here Express Mail with a return Express Mail envelope AND a return receipt on it so you know we got it. I'll make sure it gets forwarded myself. Its possible the other booklet got lost in the shuffle. (The previous woman told me that the mail person they had was a "ditz".)

I sent everything out on Tuesday so they got it Wednesday (Express Mail gets there the next business day by noon). All I can do now is sit and wait. I don't know what to do after this. I don't want to become a pest. If Mr. Chapman does not want to participate, then so be it. I will keep trying to find OTHER members of the cast and I still have a few "in's" so lets not give up hope yet.

What I WILL do is just send short notes to Mr. Chapman through the agency letting him know the progress of the club and what we are doing. Maybe a newsletter or two will shake him up a bit. As several other people have told me, he may want to see if this thing 'flies' before getting involved.

Thats all for now. I feel better and things are back to normal in the Chwal household (however normal is for us) so I am back 100% working on the fan club. The advertising is out and now we wait. I'll fill you all in on more later.

Any comments or suggestions, I'm open and would LOVE to hear from you.
Warm regards,
the SwampLady
