Fran's website was my first introduction to Swamp Thing on the web. Her
highly organized and mature layout enticed me into this world even deeper than
I had been all on my own. I had been afraid that all that would be out there
were juvenile nutcases. She was the doorway to wonderful new friendships and
numerous websites that echoed her same level of humor and information. I met
several very good friends because of her and even though I was just starting
to get to know Fran, I am deeply saddened by her loss.

We had only started to corresponde through e-mail after I posted my first
FanFic and she responded with a very nice critique of it. I feel cheated that
I will never have the chance to know her as well as my friends have been able
to, but I feel honored that I got to know her at all. 7 years is a terribly
long time to be living with such an aggresive form of cancer. It could not
have been easy for her, but she never spoke of the troubles she must have been
having. She was always concearned for the people she was talking with. I was
able to actually talk on the phone with her only once, but that helped make
her a real person for me rather than just words on a computer screen.

I was so looking forward to meeting her. Now I'll just have to look a little
further forward, because I do believe in an afterlife where we are once more
reunited with our loved ones. Goodbye dear Fran. You will be missed terribly.
But we will see you again later. Keep our seats warm for us and we'll be
along in a bit.

   :)
