Here is the page dedicated to Swamp Thing's revival. It's our mission and fervent hope to bring back... well, we shouldn't have to tell you. If you want to help, read on. If not... then why the hell are you here?
The US Sci Fi Channel (no connection to
the UK one) is going to be showing a mini-marathon of Swamp Thing
on TUESDAY, JUNE 27th, from 10:00AM EST - 3:30PM EST. (Go to the SwTh Fanclub Page for more info)
One good thing about all this (besides giving us hardcore fans a chance to get new copies of the episodes on tape) is that it might mean that there is some spark of interest for this show.
Does that mean this is a good time to write your respective (or not-so-respective) Sci Fi Channel(s)? You bet it is. Thank them. Tell them you're still interested. Beg for them to show a run of uncut episodes (as in, without-scenes-cut-for-commercials) if you're so inclined.
Also: check out what's on TV guys. Between the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?-type shows and the sitcoms sprouting and dying, what else is popping up? Check out UPN (only for a second, I promise, really) and the Fox affiliates. Cleopatra 2525. Jack Of All Trades. Secret Agent Man. Now, I'm not a fan of any of these shows. I don't watch them. I've heard they're campy as all get out. But look at 'em: quirky, goofy action-esque shows that are 23 minutes long. What looks familiar here?
The audience is here, people. Trash TV is back. Let's take advantage of it. <g>
