SYNOPSIS

Original jazz tunes by Henry Mancini topped off the action and conveyed the mood in this detective series, setting a pattern that was followed by many of the other detective shows of the late 50's and early 60's.

While working to get his clients out of trouble and solving crimes, Peter Gunn often found himself on the short end of the stick. But, he somehow always managed to come through the situation on top - with the help of his friend, Lt. Jacoby. Peter spent much of his free time at a jazz club called "Mother's" where his girlfriend Edie was the featured singer.

RCA released two very successful albums of music from this series: The Music from Peter Gunn and More Music from Peter Gunn.
