SYNOPSIS

Three wet-behind-the-ears rookie cops in a large Southern California city provided the focus of this TV show.

The trio, fresh out of college, a government social program, and the army, were dedicated to the new, more humane methods of law enforcement. This often put them at odds with their hard-nosed mentor, Lt. Ryker. Them combination of their youthful enthusiasm and Ryker's experienced guidance helped mold them into effective, well-trained police officers.

The only married officer of the three was Mike, whose wife, Jill, was a registered nurse. Their paths often crossed as victims and criminals alike, came in and out of the hospital in which she worked.

In 1974, a cast change occurred when Willie was replaced by Chris Owens - a new recruit.
