SYNOPSIS
Tod Stiles and Buz Murdock were two young guys who traveled around the country together in Tod's Corvette in search of adventure. They came from very different backgrounds but had become best friends. Tod was born into wealth, but when his father died unexpectedly, he found out that most of the money was gone. Buz had grown up in the jungle of New York's Hell's Kitchen and had been employed by Tod's father.
The series was filmed on location as they crossed the United States. During their travels, they met all sorts of people and got into all kinds of situations including: amusing, dangerous and romantic ones!
George Maharis left the series in November 1962 - because of the lingering effects of a case of hepatitis - while production was still in rolling for the 1962-63 season. He was seen off and on in episodes aired through March 1963. On March 22, 1963, Linc Case, who was to take over as Tod's traveling buddy, was introduced. He was a Vietnam war hero from Houston who returned to the U.S. unsure of of what to do next in life. He joined Tod while trying to find himself and stayed with until the series ended.
Nelson Riddle's theme music, a driving jazz melody, was on the hit parade in 1962.
