The Fairest of Them All

It is Hispanic Heritage Month here in the USA. To celebrate, over the next month our Picture of the Week feature will present some of our favorite Latin American beauty queens.

First up is Miss Venezuela 1999, Martina Thorogood. She was the first Miss Venezuela in decades who was slated to compete for both Miss World and Miss Universe. But we all know what happened. Donald Trump wouldn't accept Martina as Venezuela's representative to Miss Universe given her status as first runner-up to Miss World 1999, and there was a special, one-time only contest in February 2000 to elect Venezuela's representative to Miss Universe 2000.
