Legend has it that a Latin lover will romance you better than any other man and turn up the passion so hot, that you'll be enticed against your better judgment. According to Venezuelan actor Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Fez on FOX's That 70's Show, that claim isn't exactly foolproof. "I mean, I've definitely had awkward moments with women," says the 19-year-old Latin-lover-in-training. "When I first started going out and meeting girls I had so many cheesy lines. I'd go up to a girl and ask, 'What time is it?' just so I could start talking to her. It was really bad." The single actor who moved to the U.S. only four years ago has fine-tuned his meet and greet skills. Now when he wants to woo the women, he puts on his dancing shoes. "I love to dance. I'm a big fan of Salsa music and twice when I've been out dancing I've met someone on the dance floor," he says. "The passion that is sparked by the music when your eyes meet is something I really like."
Valderrama admits that there is no special lady in his life at the moment, even though he's been linked to a suddenly single actress, Jennifer Love Hewitt. "We're just friends and she loves salsa dance like I do." The handsome actor admits that the sad truth is that his hectic schedule doesn't allow much for lovin'. He spends most of his time on the set. "With my schedule I don't have the chance to get out much, so it's hard to meet people," he says. "I do know what I'm looking for though. I want someone I can talk to and who has a great sense of humor--someone that I don't have to entertain. Also, someone who loves to dance and is passionate about Salsa or Tango and who likes to spend quiet time at home watching TV and movies." Oh, and she'd have to let him be in charge of the remote-control says the class of 1999 high school graduate. "I'm a little possessive with the remote, but I'm polite. I always ask, 'Are you still watching this?' before I change the channel."
One trade-off to his erratic channel-surfing is that when it comes to romance, Valderrama gives his undivided attention. He says he enjoys cuddling and whispering sweet-nothings. "I like to whisper things in Spanish as well as in English. If they don't speak Spanish, it's okay, sometimes they feel interested to learn." It's not hard to guess why.
