As a star of two Fox sitcoms Mila Kunis gets to meet all her television heroes. If only she could work up the courage to actually face them.
Kunis's most recent encounter was with Ed Asner, a longtime idol. (Kunis was a loyal viewer of Nick at Nite after she emigrated from Russia) "I get so star-struck, you won't believe it," she tells TV Guide Online. Asner was set to perform on Family Guy, where Kunis provides the voice of Meghan. "And I am like, 'Oh, my God, he's coming. Oh, my God.'" A crew member encouraged Kunis to approach the veteran actor. "I'm like, 'No, I can't, I can't. You have to come with me.' So I drag him there. As soon as I see [Asner], I run in the opposite direction. And the guy goes, 'Well that's Mila — the person who is running — and she wants your autograph.' And I am hiding in the kitchen."
Asner, no doubt used to having young women cower in his presence, was unfazed and put Kunis at ease. "I'm coming out [of the kitchen] and Ed is like, 'Who are you honey? Come down the hall.'" He then graciously autographed Kunis's script from their episode.
Is it possible that one day a young thespian will tremble during his or her first meeting with Mila Kunis? Based on fan mail she receives at her other sitcom, That '70s Show, the hypothetical meeting might be a little more confrontational. When asked if girls write in to support her character's take-charge attitude, Kunis says, "No, it's more like, 'Why do you have to be such a b----? Why can't you be nice to [boyfriend] Kelso?' I literally get advice letters. They will write in saying, 'OK, look Jackie, I like you, but I like Kelso better, so be nice to him. Love, Samantha.' I hope they understand that there's a difference."
The unattached Kunis confesses that she wouldn't mind finding someone to date in real life who resembles her character's beau. "I would definitely hope to do as well as Kelso. I think Ashton [Kutcher] is pretty hot, but his character! I can't stand his character! I hope my taste is better than Jackie's."— John Aboud with Jeanne Wolf
