This week: That '70s Guy Topher Grace Boogies in for a Sit-Down
He never had to wait tables or deliver singing telegrams. Instead, the just turned 21-year-old Topher Grace (comes from ChrisTOPHER) had the pleasure of doing what he does best--act--and being discovered by someone who mattered.
That someone was actually a them--television producers Bonnie and Terry Turner, who happened to attend a school play at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, that happened to feature the handsome young thespian.
Thanks to team Turner, Topher's now a TV leading man who just happens to be stopping by this Monday, July 19, at 6 p.m. ET to chat live with me and all of you.
And he's fresh from his summer vacation and about to step back into the shoes of Eric Foreman on That '70s Show, an old-fashioned sitcom about sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll and all the retro fashions that adorn 'em.
Eric'a a wannabe rebel with a cause, part Richie Cunningham, part Kevin Arnold. And definitely a guy who'd have no problem hanging with the boys of American Pie, as Eric, too, has it bad for a girl--in this case, next-door neighbor Donna (Laura Prepon).
"They have one of those relationships that is always in a state of progression," says Topher. "What I love about it is it's not about, Will they ever kiss. It's more of a nice in-between relationship."
Still, they've had their share of tumultuous and embarrassing moments. (I still blush thinking of their first date.) So, what's ahead for the on-again, off-again couple? How does the cast feel about the jump to Tuesday night (against Buffy, no less)? And did he really study with the renowned Groundlings improv troupe? Ask Topher this and more when he joins us live on Monday.
