What a surprise to come across this web page. When I first started watching AJ when it first came on Showcase I was hooked instantly. Later I began searching the net for info on this show. Only to find out from an Australian friend the fate of this excep ional show. I am glad that there is this web page to come to now. And to find out that there are Canadians out there that love the show as much as me. I have watched from the begining, taping each show. However when Showcase changed the timeslot to 11 am I missed maybe about a weeks worth. I missed what happened between when Marina decides to have a relationship with pilot, and an episode which Tom and Julia wake up together and Tom is hiding that he is in pain from her. I am finally catching the episode in between them now. I just saw the episode in which Macy dies. I have heard though, from my friend in Australia who knows how addicted to this show I am, that a new Medivac show maybe starting..I am hoping that what he heard is true, because this show i so much better than any of the American tv shows. I also watch Water Rats, and I was a huge fan of Blue Heelers when it was on Showcase. Anyone see Grant Bowler on that? He was my favorite character on that show too.. Great website! Keep up the good wo k, and continue feeding us our addiction :-)

G'day cobbers, Stumbled across this site one night, and I was amazed that there is such a fan following for Medivac. Now Medivac is a good show by any standard, but if you lot think this is good, you ain't seen nothing yet!!! Australia has many better shows than Medivac - Stingers, Seachange, Good Guys Bad Guys to mention only a few. I see a lot of you blokes / sheilas are wondering what is happening with Medivac. Firstly, forget this 'Adrenalin Junkies' stuff - 'Medivac' is the real title. The 'AJ' title was thought up by some drongo on drugs for overseas sales. Secondly, forget about any new episodes. They aren't making any. They made two series - the second series was commissioned before the first series went to air in Australia . The first series didn't do too well, consequently the second series was never sho n here and the decision was taken not to produce any further episodes. How did this come about? OK - in Australia there are five free-to-air TV networks, three of which are commercial - Seven, Nine and Ten. Seven and Nine had been showing good quality local series for a long time, as far back as you want to go, and they get ood ratings. Ten has always been a poor third. Way back in the 60's and 70's Nine had HUNTER and DIVISION 4, Seven had HOMICIDE and RYAN, and Ten had nothing. So Ten followed suit and commissioned MATLOCK POLICE. This process has constantly repeated itsel , so recently Seven had BLUE HEELERS, Nine had WATER RATS and Ten had nothing. So Ten commissioned MEDIVAC and BIG SKY to get a share of the action. Meanwhile, Seven and Nine and the ABC had been making other great stuff like STINGERS, GOOD GUYS BAD GUYS, WILDSIDE and SEACHANGE, and unfortunately MEDIVAC and BIG SKY paled by comparison. (Although BIG SKY deserved to die - it was abysmal!). So MEDIVAC didn't do well here, because we had all this better stuff. And more kept coming - MURDER CALL, ALL SAINTS, DAY OF THE ROSES. So poor old Ten decided to lift their game and they commissioned STATE CORONER, which was an excellent series and rated well. But the writing was on the wall for MEDIVAC - the second series was put on the shelf, and no further eps are to be made. The irony for us Aussies is that MEDIVAC failed because we make better shows, but we are still subject to American garbage because they are cheaper to import for moderate ratings. We'd rather have Medivac than Chicago Dope or ER, but economics and TV bure ucrats dictate otherwise. That was a long-winded explanation, wasn't it? What else do you want to know? MEDIVAC is filmed in Brisbane - most of our local product is made in Sydney or Melbourne. A lot of overseas productions are filmed in Brisbane for financial reasons, but local companies have traditionally favoured Melb and S d. I've raved on enough for one guestbook entry. I didn't get my comments in on the last entry. I too became addicted to AJ as I am on maternity leave and besides The Price is Right the 11:00am time slot isn't that exciting. I'm going on the second round of shows as when I first started watching I mis ed the first five or six episodes. The last one I saw was Julia and Tom's wedding and Marina's resigning...was this the last episode? I hope not...it's a fabulous show!!

So nice to know I have company. I discovered the show a few months ago and can't get enough of it. However, I am on my second round now on Showcase at 11:00 am on weekday mornings. Does anyone know if there is anything beyond Arch wafting Marina away o the back of his motorbike while she is still wearing her nun's habit? Are they making any more episodes in Australia? Before I found this site (couple of months ago) I sent an email to the Australian Fim Board and told them I love the show and to keep t up. They replied with a 'thanks' but didn't say what was happening. AJ and Water Rats (3:00pm on Showcase on weekdays) have become favourite shows and they're both from Australia. I am slowly discovering other Aussie shows and I must say, don't know hat it is but I prefer them to the American equivalents. Glad to find your site. Keep up the good work...looks like a lot of work has gone into it.
