...that's what Evelyn Tan is telling all her loyal fans out there about her debut release, a labour of love lasting a year to make. Jacqueline Wee samples the album titled Unspoken Understanding as well as anecdotes of her maiden recording effort.

After much ado, TCS' favourite teacher figure Evelyn Tan, has finally released her own album! And just in time for the school holidays too!

The release titled Unspoken Understanding was indubitably a Labour of Love, taking one full year to produce.

One good reason or explanation had to do with Evelyn's neck-to-
neck filming schedules, of course. Tied up with her acting commit-
ments for the past year in Return of the Condor Heroes as Yang Guo's childhood chum Lu Wu Shuang, as well as the goodie-two-shoes female lead in acclaimed TCS musical production Beauty World, recording intermittently in-between her acting was in fact, the norm for Evelyn.

It wasn't till the later half of this year when Evelyn finally had a little more time on her hands to focus on her debut. "I was at first given a role in Riding the Storm, but eventually, TCS was kind enough to 'let me off ' and allow me to have more time to concentrate on this album.

"Before this album was finally released, I constantly wished that everything could be completed as soon as possible. But as an afterthought, I now realise that the length of time spent is trully worth it, cos I could actually spend more time communicating a couple of my own ideas to the recording label Hype Records, and my producer, Ke Gui Min .

"This album's like a dream come true. I never imagined that I could possibly have this chance of releasing my own album some day! I can only thank TCS for giving me this wonderful opportunity." When asked to rate her own singing, Evelyn offered a characteristically modest reply. "I'd rather leave that part to the media and my listeners. Hopefully, one of my tracks could even make it to the local pop charts!"
