Our first meeting with Marita Covarrubias. A very nice ep which opens our eyes to a lot of things never before uncovered. Naturally, there are still more questions than answers, but there are a lot more possibilities of eXplantions. Mythological.
*Unrhe~Someone is abducting, mutilating, and murdering the inhabitants of a small town. The primary evidence is a series of photographs depicting the killer's psychotic fantasies.
I know this is a good ep, I don't even need to see it to confirm that. But I HAVE to see it or I'll run mad!
***Home~While investigating the death of an infant in a close-knit rural community, Mulder and Scully uncover an even darker family secret.
What they mean to say is a disgusting familly secret. This ep really grosses me out. However, it does have it's memerable scenes, one inparticular, of Mulder and Scully discussing motherhood. That part earned this ep an eXtra star (otherwise, it'd be a **).
***Teliko~African-American men are disappearing. Their bodies, when found, are dead white-drained of pigment.
Another mutant ep. Not that that's a bad thing, just a repetative thing. But I liked it.
******The Field Where I Died~In an effort to prevent a mass suicide at a fanatical religious cult, Mulder and Scully interrogate one of the wives of the polygamous cult tleader. Under hypnosis, her accounts of her past lives-and deaths-are ineXplicably tied to the agents' own.
This is the only ep to receive siX stars. This is my most favorite ep (hence my handle and email). It has everything: Great writing, great acting, great direction. It is the most beatuitful ep ever! I recently learned that there are many opinions concerning this ep. And although they all vary, every Phile that I have spoken with about it (thus far) had wonderful things to say about it. It is truly a beautiful story. Don't miss it!!!!!
***Sanguinarium~At a busy-and lucrative-cosmetic surgery clinic, doctors are murdering patients with the tools of their trade. Several clues point toward demonic possession.
Kinda yucky at parts, but creepy and interesting, too.
*****Musings Of A Cigarette-Smoking Man~The secret biography of a sinister, all- powerful conspirator. Some old mysteries are cleared up-and some new ones created.
Wonderful! This may, or may not, be the true background of the CSM, but still gives up insight to an evil man. Chris Owens is superb! Mythological.
*Paper Hearts~Prompted by a series of prophetic dreams, Mulder reopens the case of a convicted child killer. The murderer claims to know the circumstances of Samantha Mulder's abduction.
Haven't seen it, so I can't say much, but I think it's mythological.
*****Tunguska~Diplomatic couriers are bringing a lethal alien life-form into the United States. Mulder and Scully's investigation points to a high-level international conspiracy beyond even their comprehension.
Not complete without...
*****Terma~Stranded in the gulag, Mulder discovers the effects of the alien toXin firsthand. In Washington, Scully battles a corrupt U. S. senator to keep their investigation alive.
More on the Black Cancer. This is where Krycek loses his...well I won't spoil it. Two very good eps. Mythological.
***El Mundo Gira~Fear, jealousy, superstition, and prejudice converge when a young female migrant worker is killed by a mysterious yellow rain.
I don't remember much about this ep. However, I don't remember not liking it, so that's why it gets three stars.
*Kaddish~Someone-or something-is killing the members of an anti-Semitic gang. To find the truth, Mulder and Scully delve into the ancient canons of Jewish Mysticism.
I don't know.
****Never Again~On a solo assignment out of town, Scully meets Mr. Wrong-a single guy who thinks his new tattoo is talking to him.
We find out a lot about Scully here. Mulder is in this one, but has I think two or three lines. Mostly Scully, which we don't get a lot of, but it's wonderful when we do. She kicks butt!
***Leonard Betts~A headless corpse escapes from a hospital morgue. Mulder and Scully invesigate. What they find leads them to the jagged dividing line between life and death.
I must be honest. During a certain scene, I was completely grossed-out and turned it off. Knowing what I know now, I wish I hadn't. But I liked it up until that part.
*****Momento Mori~Scully learns she has inoperable cancer-of the same type that killed nearly a dozen female UFO abductees. While she undergoes radical treatment, Mulder works desperately to unravel the conspiracy behind her disease.
Oh wow! This ep will make you laugh, cry and do just about anything else you could think of! I loved it! It was touching and sweet and cemented the agent's relationship. And I still know that the truth is...IT'S PLATONIC!
*Unrequited~A Marine Corps prisoner of war, abandoned in Vietnam by his superiors, returns to the United States with a vengance-and a special talent for hiding in plain sight.
Dunno.
*****Tempus Fugit~A former UFO abductee is killed in a catastrophic plane crash. Mulder suspects a conspiracy and a cover-up.
Stayed tuned for...
*****MaX~Mulder and Scully get close to proving alien involvement in the crash of Flight 549. As they do so, they trigger a massive military disinformation campaign-and the deaths of several friends and colleagues.
Great eps! I love MaX!!!! Mythological.
***Syncrony~For centuries, scientists have debated whether time travel is possible and if it ever will be. For Mulder and Scully, this age-old conundrum is the key to solving several baffling murders.
Another one I don't remember too well. But I liked it. I'm sure I did.
*****Small Potatoes~Mulder and Scully investigate several not-so-blessed events in a small southern town.
ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!!! One of the funniest eps. Great performance by DD, and the second great appearance of Darin Morgan (the first was as Flukeman)!
*****Zero Sum~Walter Skinner makes a deal with the devil (CSM) in an effort to prevent Scully from dying of cancer.
The very first ep I saw! A very confusing ep, if you have no XF background. But a great mythology ep, nonetheless. I love Skinner!
****Elegy~Several young women have been murdered on Mulder and Scully's home turf. Their prime suspect is a mentally disabled man, Harold Spuller, who has been beset by a series of frightening apparitions.
I love this ep! We get a little deeper into Scully's head, which is always good.
****Demons~After eXperiencing a series of blackouts and seizures-and what might be the recovery of repressed memories-Mulder gains new insights into his younger sister's abduction. However, while taking his inner journey, he may also have murdered two people.
My arguement is always: If you don't remember doing it, was it really murder? But we learn lots in flashbacks of Mulder's past. Mythological.
*****Gethsemane~When a controversial scientist claims to have discovered evidence of eXtraterrestrial life, Mulder and Scully find thier lives-and belief systems-in grave peril.
Awesome! Everything you know about TXF will change in this hour! Oh, I love it! Mythological, as is every finale.
