*SEASON ONE*

*****The X-Files: Pilot~FBI agent Dana Scully is paired with maverick agent FoX Mulder, who has made it his life's work to eXplore uneXplained phenomena. The two are dispatched to investigate the mysterious deaths of a number of high school classmates.

As great as a pilot can be. It does a great job of introducing our two heroes and providing background enough to form fair opinions about them. Probably Scully's happiest hour. Go ahead, count how many times she smiles! Mythological.

*****Deep Throat~Acting on a tip from an inside source, Mulder and Scully travel to Idaho to investigate unusual disappearances of army test pilots.

Though not the first ep I saw, Deep Throat was the first ep to catch my attention in the beginning and hold clear through the end. This episode changed my life for the better! Perhaps that's why Deep Throat is my favorite informant. Mythological.

****Squeeze~Mulder and Scully try to stop a mutant killer, Eugene Tooms, who can gain access through even the smallest spaces and awakens from hibernation every 30 years to commit murder.

Ooh, scary! Doug Hutchison, who played Tooms, did such a marvelous job! This one'll leave you hungry for liver!

***Conduit~A teenage girl is abducted by aliens, compelling Mulder to confront feelings about his own sister's disappearance.

Okay, I don't really remember much about this one. I only remember liking it, though I'm not sure why. And I remember "I want to believe." Mythological.

***The Jersey Devil~Scully and Mulder investigate murders thought to be the work of a legendary man-beast living in the New Jersey woods.

I don't remember much about this one, either. But I did like it. Especially the little turn it took concerning the MAN-beast.

***Shadows~Mulder and Scully investigate unusual murders committed by an unseen force protecting a young woman.

This one's pretty cool. It kinda reminds me of the book The Dollhouse Murders, and if you've ever read it, you know what I mean. All I can say is "They're he- ere!"

*Ghost in the Machine~A computer with artificial intelligence begins killing in order to preserve its eXistence.

As the rating suggests, I've never seen this one. But I will someday!

****Ice~Mulder and Scully and a small party are trapped in the Arctic after the uneXplained deaths of a research team on assignment there.

I like this one a lot. I think it really shows how people would react in this kind of situation.

**Space~A mysterious force is sabotaging the United States' space shuttle program and Scully and Mulder must stop it before the neXt launch.

There are very few eps that I don't like, and this is one of them. It's just not as good as we all know it could have been. Chris is a genius, but this ep remains on the bottom of the totem pole.

*****Fallen Angel~Scully and Mulder investigate a possible UFO crash site, which Mulder believes the government is covering up.

I love this ep, and MaX is one of my favorite non-recurring characters. Just a little insight into the government's involvement in everything, and Mulder's pursuit of the truth. Mythological.

****Eve~Two bizarre, identical murders occur simultaneously on different coasts, each involving a strange young girl.

Being a huge Beatles fan, naturally I love this ep and its reference to the song 'I Am The Walrus' ("I am she and she is me, and we are all together"). I hope the ending constitutes a sequel!

*Fire~Mulder and Scully encounter an assassin who start fires with the touch of his hand.

Never seen it, so until I have, I'll just say "?".

*****Beyond the Sea~Scully and Mulder seek the aid of a death-row inmate, Luther Lee Boggs, who claims to have psychic abilities, to help them stop a killer who's on the loose.

I love the eps that focus on a specific agent and reveals more about them. That's what BTS does for Scully. Being a girl, she's naturally more vulnerable (being a girl myself, I give myself the permission to use this generalization about females), especially when it comes to her loved ones. A very, very great ep!

**Genderbender~Scully and Mulder seek answers to a bizarre series of murders committed by one person who kills as both a male and a female.

Well, amid the tones set by its title and Scully almost doing the wild thing with some stranger, this ep has one thing going for it: Nick Lea, who first appeared in TXF in this ep as one of the victims before becoming our dear Ratboy. But that's where the good stuff stops.

***Lazarus~When an FBI agent and a bank robber are both shot during a bank heist, the robber is killed but the agent begins to take on the criminal's persona.

Too good to be put in the same category as Genderbender, but not good enough to reside neXt to Eve. We find out that Scully's birthday is February 23.

****Young At Heart~Mulder finds that a criminal he put away who was supposed to have died in prison has returned, taunting him as he commits a new spree of crimes.

"A hunted FoX eventually dies." I love this ep, which takes Mulder back to his first case with the Violent Crimes Unit, and us deeper into Mulder's head. Trust me, this ep will "get you." *blowing a kiss*

*****E.B.E.~Scully and Mulder discover evidence of a government cover-up when they learn that a UFO shot down in Iraq has been secretly transported to the U.S.

EXtraterrestrial Biological Entity. Here we meet The Lone Gunmen, the paranoid group which, we're led to believe, Mulder has known a while. More mythology and humor in this hour than in most.

**Miracle Man~The agents investigate a young faith healer who seems to use his powers for both good and evil.

Well, all I can say is you *may* want to keep watching, because this is the part where they bring out Elvis.

***Shapes~Mulder and Scully travel to an Indian reservation to eXamine deaths caused by a beastlike creature.

This ep has one of my most favorite Mulder quips: "Even though my deodorant is made for a woman, they say it's strong enough for a man." Pretty good story.

****Darkness Falls~Mulder and Scully are called in when loggers in a remote Pacific Northwest forest mysteriously disappear.

This ep, in one scene inparticular, shows Scully not as the tower of strength she usually is, but as a scared little girl. I love that, because we are all scared at some point of something, and for Scully (and me), that something happens to be glowing bugs.

****Tooms~Mulder becomes personally involved when Eugene Tooms, the serial killer who eXtracts human livers, is released from prison.

This ep renewed my faith in sequels. A great way to bring back one of the best XF monsters. And for you Iced Tea-seeking 'shippers, remember "it must be fate: Root Beer!"

***Born Again~A series of murders is linked to a little girl who may be the reincarnated spirit of a murdered policeman.

I never saw the end of this, I only saw half. But I feel that three stars is a fair bet, from what I saw in the beginning.

***Roland~Mulder and Scully investigate the murders of two rocket scientists apparently linked to a retarded janitor.

Pretty good. Not as bad as some, which is why it gets three stars. A lot of gruesome murders, and a phenomenon similar to that of Born Again.

*****The Erlenmeyer Flask~Working on a tip from Deep Throat. Mulder and Scully discover that the government has been testing alien DNA on humans with disastrous results.

Oh my! My favorite ep of the season! Mythology eps are usually the best and this one out does most of them. A little confusing, but it comes clearer as the mythology unfolds in future eps. Warning: Major tear jerker!
