She closed her eyes, breathing in the fresh smell of sping. A
breeze blew
her aurban hair, tossoling it around her shoulders. Reluctantly,
she opened
her eyes and came face to face with the simple stone table.
"Hey, Jess. It's Willow. Sorry it's been awhile. There seems
to be a new
prophecy or monster thing evey week and with Angelus around,
Mrs.
Calender
gone...everyone is busier than ever. Today, Giles gave us an
off day and I
thought I'll come visit you."
She didn't see someone a few feet away, sitting down quietly
and trying not
to be noticed.
"I've been doing okay. Could be better, but in reality standards,
it's
pretty good. I guess I should tell you that Xander and Cordelia
(she
shuddered) are, um, going out. Yeah, I know- shocked me pretty
bad, too. In
fact, I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. My feelings...
I just
don't know...he knows or I think he knows about them- especially
with that
stupid love spell. I have barely talked to him since. Not sure
if it's me
avoiding him or him avoiding me. All I know is our friendship
isn't the same
anymore. In fact, I doubt he even realizes I'm alive anymore.
But then
again, he never really has. If I were to run away or disappear,
he probably
wouldn't even notice cause he's too wrapped around cordy's finger.
I really
wish they were- just you, me, and Xander. Maybe even Buffy if
she didn't have
that Slayer thing and we didn't live on the Hellmouth. But that's
my life-
and it's never going back to the way it used to be. Still..can't
help hoping-
I miss you a lot - and Xander."
The figure behind her shifted to get more comfortable and almost
fell off the
stone bench. Luckily, he saved himself just in time from disturbing
the
serene environment.
Willow, still oblivious to being watched, continued, "Oh! I have
a boyfriend-
still not used to saying that...anyway, Oz is in the band. He's
so perfect!
(except the werewolf thing) He's a really great guy- totally
sweet, cares
about me so much and my feelings--so unlike Xander--But part
of me is
still...thinking about Xander. I know that's unfair to Oz...but
I don't get
it!! Oz is so wonderful and is the opposite of Xander...then
why do I s—"
A loud thump behind her rudely interupted her. She froze and immediatly went
to her pocket for Holy Water and a stake. Then she remembered, the sun still
had about a half an hour to go...She relaxed, but carefully stood
up and
turned slowly to meet the intruder.
