Bruno's father dies (Once in a while)and he has to leave the school. (What Would We Ever Do) Julie, we learn, has moved to Corpus Christi and has gotten married. Holly and Chris start at the school.

Shorofsky helps Bruno get a job at Caruso's, and it becomes popular with his friends (Midnight Celebration) Doris becomes more withdrawn as she contemplates life and death, and Bruno helps her out (Once in a while duet)

Hail to the Chief
The school show is disrupted by the visit of the president.

Knockout
Leroy helps Billy Hall become a better dancer. Chris dallies in boxing. (I Know I Can, Taking It to the Top)

Rules
Bruno falls for Lisa Connors, who just happens to be Shorofsky's student teacher. The relationship breaks up over this. Morloch is interested in Sherwood.

Consequences
An experiment in midterms throws the school show into chaos when Leroy doesn't know whether to make out a real test, or the kind of test everyone wants him to make. Danny catches Chris cheating. (Songs are Turn to me solo, Doris and Danny's Turn to Me duet, and Showtime)

An undercover narcotics cop surprises everyone (New York State of Mind) Dwight has a problem with his mother.

Holly falls for Billy, a pianist with a chip on his shoulder, who is in a wheelchair.

A Way of Winning
Leroy has an affinity for track which Morloch encourages him to pursue. Doris tries to find out what being old is like, but her act is too good when an old man falls in love with her.

Appearances
Chris and Holly have problems when a screen kiss threatens to turn into the real thing.

Bottle of Blues
Doris' old boyfriend Sandy Bailey turns up, with a drink problem.

Lisa's Song
During the production of "Gypsy Queen" strange things start happening. (Doris' different coloured eyes)

Written by Morgan Stevens. Doris has a makeover to impress a guy. Leroy's Uncle Eddie pays a visit, but he's very sick - in fact, he's dying.

A Friend In Need
Returing to the school to teach Jim Hamilton falls for Lydia, but Doris has fallen for him.

The Deal
Bruno tries to help a mobster's daughter into the school.

Home Again
Dwight's old nanny, Denora Daniels, arrives as a substitute English teacher. She's also a wonderful sinfer (played by Melissa Manchester) but she's lost her nerve to perform.

Signs
Chris is left temporarily deaf after an on-stage accident. While attending a special school for the deaf, he learns how to ask for help.Co-written by Valerie Landsburg and Michael A. Hoey.

Heritage
Shorofsky helps Doris come to terms with her Jewish heritage. This is the last episode to feature Bruno.

The Home Front
Alicia tries to fit in at the school. Doris doesn't like her, but forgives her when she comes to the rescue after Chris misses a rehearsal when he has trouble at home.
