The kids all enter a song contest which Jesse wins when he writes a song straight from his heart (Other Side of the Road) However, he's faced with a hard decision when the producers try to make it something it's not.

Chris falls in love with Julie, a girl with a cocaine habit.

Savage Streets
When a street gang, the Skulls kill Jesse's shopkeeper friend Hector, he joins the rival gang the Ravens. Dancing a street version of Carmen, Nicole is plagued by visions of Jesse being hurt.

His Majesty Donlon
The visiting Prince Freddie turns out to be a dead ringer for Chris, and his fiancée for Nicole. When Chris and Freddie switch places, Chris learns to deal with his feelings for Nicole, and Freddie and his fiancée learn to love one another. Along the way, they manage to help save world peace.

Broadway Danny Amatullo
Danny gets a job working at a talent agency, and moves further away from his friends.

Ebenezer Morloch
Morloch realises what is important in life and at the school as the Christmas ghosts take him on a little tour…..

Choices
Reggie and Kate audition for the school. Holly leaves, making Nicole question what direction her life is taking. She gets a part in a Broadway musical and when she is found out, decides not to give it up. She soon finds out stardom isn't all it's cracked up to be, and re-auditions for the school.

The First Time
Jesse and Nicole break up when he wants the relationship to move faster than she does. He goes to the Sadie Hawkins dance with Kate who has a crush on him, and Nicole, unable to find a guy to take her to the dance who's not bound by "the rules", ends up going out with Joe Douglas, the school jerk. A fight breaks out, and Nicole and Jesse get back together. They go away for a romantic weekend, but things don't go as planned.

A River to Cross
When the kids do a version of Huck Finn, the black students boycott it, and Danny and Leroy come to blows over it.

Such Good Friends
When Tina's good intentions render Leroy's place uninhabitable, he stays with Lydia for a while. The pair share a kiss, and little Tina decides to do some matchmaking. Mr Shorofsky has some romantic problems of his own when his Chinese table-tennis playing friend is staying with him.

Holmes Sweet Holmes
Someone wants to tear down the school. Will Danny in the guise of Sherlock Holmes stop them?

Double Exposure
Jesse has trouble with biology, and gets into trouble when it looks as if he's stolen the biology midterm. The gang work on the yearbook, and put on the play Jeckyl and Hyde.

The Inheritance
Tina comes into money prompting the return of her father Lemar, and Dwight's play about the Dewey Decimal System brings him into conflict with Kate.

The Comedian
Danny and Chris' act is stolen. Reggie gets in a lot of trouble for always joking around.

Stagefright
Appearing in the school production of Elvis, Chris gets a bad attack of stagefright. Jesse and Dwight Mendenhall's cousin, Leonard, try to break the world tap-dancing record.

Self-Defense
Nicole has a secret admirer, and Miss Grant gives the girls self-defence classes. Vandals wreak havoc on the school.

WSOA
Jesse's stint as a DJ at the school radio station bring him into contact with a suicidal girl. The implementation of a dress code causes friction in the school.

Contacts
Chris and Kate have been dating but keeping their relationship secret, although everyone knows about it. Chris gets a job as a waiter to meet some important people, and gets an audition. But when he mistakenly believes that the casting director requires that they be more than just friends, it ruins his relationship with Kate.

To Tilt At Windmills
A substitute teacher proves to be slightly loopy after the death of his wife. Don Quixote.

Losin' It
After an accident, Leroy is scared to dance. Reggie has confidence problems when she's around a guy she likes.

The Incident
Jesse lies in a coma, and the school tries to unravel what happened to him.
