“What’s the prob, Sal?” Sonic asked.
“It seems Rotor is trying to take over the wolf pack, who live in the
lost city in the forest. Lupe wasn’t able to get a message to me until now,
but it seems they have been on the run for awhile now. He requested help.”
Sally explained.
“He?” Sonic asked surprised.
“Yes, Lupe is a male. What would make you think otherwise?” Sally
asked.
“Uh, nothing I guess.” Sonic stammered.
“Anyways, on another note, we have guest today.” Sally said as a figure
came out from behind her.
“No way! Snively?” Sonic exclaimed. Snively had a mop of hair and a
large pair of glasses. He wore a gray suit that was tattered and dusty.
“It seems you know my name, but I do not know yours.” Snively said.
“I’m Sonic. New to this group of freedom fighters. Just got here
recently.” Sonic said, shaking Snively’s hand.
“Ah, then you must be who he was talking about. But he said you had
been gotten rid of. Most interesting.” Snively said.
“Huh?” Sonic said.
“Snively, our inside spy in Robotropolis, has reported that he has new
findings.” Sally explained.
“Most certainly. It seems Rotor has some friend ship with someone who
knows alot about the freedom fighters. Not long ago I heard him say that they
had gotten a new member, but he had been left behind. That’s whene I decided
to make the trek here and tell you all.” Snively explained.
“Could you identify the voice?” Sally asked.
“No, I was inside an air vent, and you know how hard it is to hear in
one of those blasted things.” Snively said.
“Thank you for your support, Snively. Now, Freedom Fighters, we must
get ready for our upcoming mission. Do any wish to stay behind?” Sally said.
Bark raised his hand.
“Okay, then. You have 30 minutes to get ready.” Sally said as she left.
The other freedom fighters left also.
“I’ve been here, what, 3 days and I’ve fought 2 battles, plus the
upcoming!” Sonic said to Bean.
“2? “ Bean asked.
“Yeah, I got into a tussle coming back from the desert. I’ll tell you
about it more later.” Sonic said.
“Ok.” Bean said.
“One more thing.” Sonic said.
“What?” Bean asked.
“I thought you said Knothole was destroyed.” Sonic said.
“I said Knothole was destroyed. Some parts of the forest are still
there. They are heavily protected by Guard Swat-bots, though. Only the wolf
pack has been able o live there and survive. They live in the abandoned
ruins, were the Breath of Mobius used to be. Robotnick had attacked before.
That’s why it is called abandoned, even though people live there, right under
the Swat-bots noses.” Bean explained.
“Not hidden well enough, it seems.” sonic said.
“I guess you’re right.” Bean said. He went into his room and Sonic just
stood around. He tried to memorize all the places he had seen doors before.
After he got bored of that, he went up and looked around for a bit. Sure
enough, in the very far west of the entrance distance, a small forest could
be seen with many black dots sprinkled in front of it. He looked to the east
and saw the city of Robotropolis. Or Rotortroplis, Sonic didn’t know. To the
north he could see nothing, and behind him the desert. After awhile Sonic
went back down. To his surprise, Snively was there.
“Hello, hedgehog.” Snively said.
“Oh, hey Snivels” sonic said out of habit.
“I’d prefer if you did not use that name.” Snively said, sounding a
little disgusted.
“Sorry, force of habit.” sonic confessed.
“I’m afraid I don’t understand.” Snively said, confused.
“Well, I’m from another dimension, y’see?” Sonic explained. He told his
whole story and before long it was time to leave.
“Freedom fighters, to the vehicle bay!” Sally said. She got in the
front with Antoine, leaving Bean, Sonic, and Bunnie in the back of the van.
Mina was riding her ‘hog’ beside them. Soon they could all see the large swat
bots in the distance. They opened fire as soon as the Freedom fighters had
come in range. Mina rocketed ahead and shot a few with the bike mounted laser
machine guns. She destroyed one before a shot grazed the bike destroying the
gun.
“Time for a new gun!” Mina said as she pressed a button and a rocket
launcher came out of the bike. She fired a shot a toppled a Swat bot. Then
the Freedom Fighter in the back of the van got out while Sally and Antoine
went and parked the van somewhere out of site.
Sonic quickly ran into the mob of Robots confusing them all while Mina,
Bean, and Bunnie with her twin laser pistols built into her hands felled as
many bots as they could. Another laser cannon fire destroyed Minas Rocket
launcher and she drove away and put it by the Van, passing Sally and Antoine
on the way.
“I hope the rest of our freedom fighters aren’t as cowardly as that
one.” Antoine said. Sally didn’t say anything in response.
More Swat bot were appearing, and Sonic and the other were having
trouble dodging all the cannon fire. One of bots shot one of his partners,
who fell on Bunnie. She used all her robotic strength to remove it from her.
Soon, Sally and Antoine got back. They just had to hold of long enough for
Mina to get back, and they could push their way into the forest. It was about
5 minutes before she got back. The Freedom fighters pushed their way in, past
the Guard Swat bots.
They quickly made work of the old model Swat bots that inhabited the
forest. After awhile, they came to a thick net of trees.
“You have to push through it and to the other side!” Sally said. They
did as they were told, and were greeted by a few foot fall.
“Ouch, that hurt!” Sonic said, stating the obvious. He looked ahead and
saw a mostly destroyed rock city being attacked by super swat bots. Suddenly,
a blue gray male fox came up beside them.
“At last you have come! We cannot hole out much longer! They have
killed many of our people, and we cannot escape! They will surely overcome us
without your help!” the wolf cried.
“It’s okay Lupe. Were here, and you can bet we will try to make a
difference.” Sally said. The freedom fighters launched themselves into the
fray as Lupe looked on. They attacked all the enemies they could find. Sally
and Antoine soon got separated from the group.
Suddenly, Antoine grabbed Sally and made her inhale something that made
her go unconscious. He took out a small yellow communicator.
“I’ve captured the princes. You may detonate now.” Antoine spoke.
“Very well.” Rotor voice said over the intercom. A small air mobile
descended and picked up Antoine and Sally.
“What’s that?” Sonic asked. A large crackling noise came from above the
forest and the Swat bots stopped moving.
“Hello, Freedom fighters and Wolves. I, the great Rotor, have set bombs
throughout the city. It’s too late to diffuse them, so It seems you are all
about to die in about a minute. Sorry I couldn’t be there to see your face
right now.” Rotor said.
“Come on! I’ll get you all up!” Sonic said as he grabbed Bean and Ran
up the side of the cliff with the net of trees, placing him on the other
side. He went back and got all the freedom fighters in a similar way. Just as
he was about to go down for the Wolves, the whole city exploded, setting
trees on fire. Sonic made them all grab onto him as he ran his fasted the get
out of the oncoming Forest fire. It seemed like hours till they made it out,
though it had all taken less than a minute. After he had gotten out of the
forest, they found Antoine.
“I was captured and taken to the border of ze forest here. I was here
when ze bomb exploded. Sally was captured, unfortunately.”
“Funny you could get yourself free, but not her!” Bean shouted. Antoine
dismissed it.
“We should be getting back to ze van right about now, don’t you think?”
Antoine said, heading off in the direction of the van. Sonic and the other
followed him. They got into vehicles and left, one freedom fighter short.

“Seeing as I’m am ze second in command, it eez only natural that I
should be ze leader in zis period of time.” Antoine said as they were all in
the meeting room.
“We want the whole story on Sally, Antoine.” Bean said.
“Yeah, Sally girl ain't the one who goes around getting captured.”
Bunnie said.
“It is to not be being importaint. What eez eez zat I am in control now
and you are to be doing whatever I am to be saying.” Antoine said angrily.
“You sick maniac! You probably killed Sally just to be in charge!” Bark
roared.
“I did none suck thing! And eef I hear anymore of zis, I will... ”
Antoine started.
“Do what?” Bean asked, standing up to Antoine.
“Zis!” Antoine said as he grabbed his sword from his hilt and slashed
up Bean’s stomach and chest.
“Raar!” Bark roared as he pounced at Antoine, only to be stabbed with
the tip of Antoine's sword emerging from his back. from his back.
“I will admit it! I was ze one who gave Sally to Rotor! I was ze one
who gave ze order to blow up ze ruins! And if you don’t do what I say, you
will end up like him!” screamed Antoine, pointing his sword at Barks bleeding
body. Sonic curled up into a ball and launched himself at Antoine, knocking
him down. His sword went flying. Antoine looked up at Sonic and the other
freedom fighter surrounding him. His eyes were red. He got up and knocked the
other away from him. He ran to the vehicle bay, with the other in pursuit.
He punched in combination after combination, but couldn’t seem to open the
door. Whene the Freedom fighters were almost on top of him he unlocked it and
stumbled into Mina’s motorcycle, opening the bay door and taking off for
Robotropolis. The freedom fighter looked on in anger.
“Hey! Can I get a little help here?” Bean said in a broken voice from
the meeting room.
“Coming Bean!” Sonic said as he and the others ran to him.
“This world just got even worse.” Sonic thought to himself.
