Sooner Than Heaven - Chapter 17

"And here we are,"Lucky said, holding Liz. He set her down,"Room 431."

Luke was right behind them,"How will this do?"he asked. It was like any other hotel room, one bed, a tv, a bathroom and a couch.

"Compared to that steel room I have been in all year dad, this is heaven to me... especially now that I have Liz with me, this is like..... so perfect,"He finished.

Luke had to grinned. What he missed most about his son was his humor. He always had a way to make him laugh. He felt so happy to have his son back. It was definatly going to be hard to not have him at home for the time being.

"I feel like i'm in Heaven,"Liz said. She leaned over and gave Lucky a kiss on the cheek. They had plenty of kisses since last night but it felt as though each one was special in its own way.

"Well, I must be off now and i'll leave you two love birds alone,"Luke said.

"Thanks Dad,"Lucky said. He hugged him tightly. Luke still couldn't get over the fact that he was able to hold his son again. He couldnt get over that he was still alive. Alive.

His prayers were answered. He let go of Lucky then,"Bye,"he said,"Becareful."

Lucky watched as Luke left, and grinned when the door shut. He and Liz were now alone. As much as he loved his dad, all he wanted was Elizabeth.

"What do we do now?"Liz grinned.

"I dunno... we could... hmm... sleep... watch tv... make love... listen to music... make love..."Lucky said,"Did I say make love?"

Liz laughed,"I love you, you know that don't you?"

"No i believe I didn't,"Lucky grinned. Liz threw a pillow at him. Lucky threw it back.Liz sat down on the bed, and Lucky layed on it besides her. They kissed again.

"I can't get over the fact I can actually kiss you,"Liz breathed.

"Neither can I,"Lucky said,"That's why I keep doing it,"he kissed her again.

Liz got up."Where ya going?"Lucky asked.She flipped on the radio,"Let's dance."

"Um... ok,"Lucky said, "I haven't danced in a year."

"That's why i want to,"Liz grinned. She found a station and left it on... Lucky got up and walked to her and placed his arms around her...

Lucky's eyes nearly had tears in them once the song ended. Liz noticed it,"What's wrong?"She asked, concerned.

"This song,"Lucky said,"Is exactly what I feel right now... don't you think it completely describes us?" Lucky trailed off.

"You know what..."Liz whispered,"It does."

"I mean... mayby that's what this whole year apart was about... to realize how important we are to each other... and how we would do anything for each other..."Lucky trailed off.

"Maybe,"Liz whispered. She kissed him.
